Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Foxfoot rolled onto his back and stretched his body. His fluffy sorrel fur almost soaked up the rays of sun that scattered into camp as speckles through the leaves. The hunter had just come back to camp and threw a couple of mice into the fresh-kill pile before laying down to rest. With prey just starting to come out of hibernation, the hunters were working harder than normal to find well-fed prey from the winter. Foxfoot could almost feel the soreness wash away as he relaxed his muscles and let the sun warm his fur.
"Tough day?" Came a gentle voice from an unfamiliar, yet somewhat familiar, fawn colored she-cat. Fawnheart, the Springclan medicine cat who was visiting Fallclan for some teaching, stood a few mouse lengths away.
His head sprang up as amber eyes locked onto the SpringClan she-cat. He bowed his head to her and sighed a tired sigh. "With Newleaf approaching, we have a lot more work to do. I haven't done this much hunting since I was an apprentice!" The young tom let out a chuckle, almost laughing at himself. "Do you need any help? I'm itching to do anything but hunt right now."
Foxfoot smiled and shook his head. "It's not a waste! Don't worry. I went out at dawn and did a good share already. I would be more than honored to help you out!" He stretched his long fluffy body and slowly rose to his paws. "Any special event going on?" He inquired. "Halfmoon isn't for another few weeks, isn't it?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary yet" She purred, leading the way out of camp and grateful for the tom's willingness to help. "I don't know Fallclan territory very well. Do you know where the best place to find herbs is?"
The sorrel tom followed the SpringClan she-cat out of camp and paused for a moment at her question. He thought and finally answered her after some consideration. "The garden has all different kinds of herbs, though I don't know which ones grow this season." He lightly brushed against Fawnheart and gestured his tail for her to follow his lead.
She flinched at his brush but ignored it and continued with their task. "We can always take a look. Although its colder on this side of the mountain, the weather has been warming up a bit." She answered as she followed the Fallclan tom.
He noted her expression and trotted forward a bit. Was he getting a little too close? Maybe he needed to give her some space. The tom sighed, as far too often he finds himself getting too close for others comfort. He lead her around the large oaks and into a small hollow lush with vegetation. He didn't understand it much, but hoped that it would make up for his mistake from before.
She halted and looked down at the fallen leaves under the oaks. "Oak leaves! Perfect! These help stop infections. I will have to come collect these later. Lets see what else we can find" she purred, hoping she didn't hurt his feelings. She just hadn't been prepared. She hardly knew this tom and she was in an unfamiliar place. She gave a good sniff then padded over to a patch of large leaves and began digging. It didn't take long before she came to the roots of the plant. "Burdock root." She mewed to him, pulling a few out of the ground. "Also used for infections or rat bites."
Amber eyes observed the fawn she-cat as she hurried about the garden. He listened intently as she spoke to him, explaining the herbs. He didn't much use for such knowledge, but maybe later it would come in handy. "Do you want any help? Looking for anything specific?" Foxfoot felt bad just standing around as Fawnheart went about her business, but he also figured he should stand guard in case anything fishy was to happen.
"No, I'm not really looking for anything specific." She answered. "I could use some help carrying these back along with those oak leaves. I can carry these if you want to take the oak leaves." She suggested. She liked this tom. He was nice and she wondered if all of Fallclan was like this. If for whatever reason Eternalstar didn't want her in Springclan anymore, perhaps she would consider staying here for a while.
He nodded and trotted over to her, bundling the leaves as best he could into his mouth without breaking them. Unable to make a sound, he pointed his tail towards the exit and began to slowly make his leave, waiting for the SpringClan medicine cat to follow.
She grabbed the roots in her jaws and followed the Fallclan warrior back to camp. When they arrived, she headed to the medicine den and set the roots down and made room for Foxfoot to bring in the leaves. "I really appreciate your help" she mewed sweetly. She stared into the tom's eyes, her own amber eyes sparkling.
He felt his body warm up as she locked eyes with him. He gulped and smiled, trying to hide his nerves. "Any time! If you need anything else, just let me know." He bowed his head to her and slipped out of the medicine cat den for a moment, then popped his head back in quickly, asking, "How long will you be in FallClan for?"
"For a while, I think." She didn't want to tell him that she was considering on staying. "But I hope I don't overstay my welcome."
(By the way, Fawnheart is "Seeing" another cat in Dayclan but maybe there could be a love triangle if you want! ^~^ Maybe she has to choose! She can either go with one of them or neither of them and devote herself back to being medicine cat. Or maybe she steps down from being medicine cat and chooses to stay with one of the toms. If Foxfoot is seeing someone else, I totally understand! Or maybe Foxfoot likes someone else too so Fawnheart could probably choose the Dayclan tom over Foxfoot and he can be with someone else? Up to you!)
(foxfoot is plotting with another fallclan cat, but we were thinking about a cheating or love triangle plot! I'm all for anything really, lol. i can shoot you a pm too!)
It had been a few sunrises since Foxfoot had helped her collect herbs. She had been meaning to spend time with him again. Something about him made her heart race. She wanted to see him again and feel that rush. She searched the camp for him, wondering if maybe they could do something else other than collecting herbs. She thought that maybe he could teach her what it was like to be a warrior so she could start contributing to the clan that had so generously taken her in and fed her. She felt that she owed at least that much to them.
Foxfoot sleepily stumbled out of the warrior's den. He had trouble sleeping the night prior, his head throbbing like never before. While he had originally planned to see Softpelt, when he saw Fawnheart he had changed his mind completely. Gathering himself, he did his best to pad over to the SpringClan she-cat and purred, "Good afternoon, Fawnheart. I was wondering if you could help me with something?"
