Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sagecloud groaned as he turned onto his side, unwilling to move from where he lay soaking up the beginnings of the spring sunlight. BrookClan had been...out-of-sorts recently, and he'd taken to dealing with the issues caused by the tsar disappearing by simply lying down and hoping everyone would just leave him alone.
Serena had been mostly unaffected by the calamity that had encompasses the group as of recently. Of course, things had been a little stranger, but it was a blessing in disguise that she was a cat who really had nothing riding on her. If the sky fell, it fell. Her tail twitched as she passed up to an old friend. He, too, probably didn’t have any particular stakes in the world around them.
“What’s up, Sagey-poo,” she purred, plopping down next to him. “How goes it?”
Sagecloud lifted his head a fraction of an inch to acknowledge his friend, but didn't move any further. "It's not going, Vanilla Ice," he replied, almost shrugging but unable to find the energy. "Or rather, everyone's going and I'm not at all."
Serena shrugged. “Yeah, well, happens sometimes,” she meowed casually, whiskers twitching. “I didn’t think you were going to have much going on, honestly. That’s why I came over to hang out. Figured we could spice things up together and do something,” she continued with a wink.
Sagecloud blinked. "Sounds good, as soon as I find the energy to move 'round properly." Which was now, pretty much, since Serena usually energized the tom a great deal. "What did you have in mind?"
She grinned her widest grin. Had Sagecloud ever found another friend? She was unsure. But, if he hadn’t, at least she had a monopoly on his time, which, in times like this, was ideal. He’s keep her occupied, or at least bothering him would. “Not sure. Let’s plow this popsicle stand and figure it out once we are somewhere... private,” she winked again. What was she going to do? She wasn’t sure. But they’d figure it out.
"What's a popsicle - ech, never mind," Sagecloud muttered, rising to all four paws and yawning. "Where's private 'round here, nowadays? People seem to think the whole territory and beyond belongs to them and only them these days."
“That’s fair, yeah,” she meowed with a shrug. He probably wasn’t wrong; the cats had gotten a little bit territorial over the last little bit. “Maybe we will just have to fight someone if they give us too much trouble, huh, Sagey?” She hadnt gotten in a good spar in a while. “You can protect me, can’t ya?” She Gabe Jim a nudge on her shoulder, before letting out a laugh. Part of her wondered if he could even protect himself sometimes.
Sagecloud gave Serena a withering look. "You know I can't," he muttered, but he wasn't particularly worried. "I'm more likely to just lie down and die."
( hey this is a flash thread i can make my replies as short as i want to )
Serena knocked into him gently. "Hey, not with that additude you can't" she admitted, "but that's fine. I'll take care of us," she decided. "But maybe lets not lay down and die that's kinda lame, dontchya think?"
"Lame, or pragmatic?" Sagecloud challenged the she-cat, only half-joking. "Whatever, I'll follow your lead. Follow you into battle, die gruesomely. Worth it."
"Are you saying dying with me is worth it?" she asked, a grin on her face. He really did like her. "Aww, shucks." She let out a chuckle, tilting her head. "Let's go to the haunted two-leg nest? That sounds like fun."
"Perfect," Sagecloud nodded, moving to follow the she-cat. "The haunted treehouse, eh? Dying to a ghost seems less painful than dying to a real, flesh 'n blood cat. I'm in."
SHe let out a purr, before leading the way. "Not the treehouse, silly. The real life house," she corrected. "Did ya hear that at one point Cynder trapped a bunch of children in it and scared the absolute hell out of um?" she chattered as the walked, before shrugging. "I wonder if you can even die to a ghost cat. Can we try?"
( LMAO THAT ONE WASN'T EVEN SAGECLOUD THAT WAS MY MISTAKE MY BAD )
Sagecloud nodded enthusiastically. "Yes," he replied, "yes, we should. If we don't die, then we live. If we do die, we don't have to deal with all this uprising crap. It's a win-win situation."
"You know what? You're absolutely right," she meowed as she paraded forward. Well, maybe dying wasn't the most ideal, but at least he admitted that there was at least a sort of good possibility, right? That was a step in the right direction? She thought about this as they walked closer to the house. "You ever been here before?"
