Juniperwater curled her body protectively around her kits tucked away warm in her nest. She had been so afraid Wraith would leave her to care for their children alone but he had proven to be a caring and surprisingly willing father. While they had never declared themselves mate she assumed this is what it would feel like. Loved, Cared for, respected. She pressed her muzzle into the warm bodies of her kits and sighed lovingly.
Pushing his way into the nursery, Hazelmarsh dropped the body of a rabbit in front of the queens. "Here," he meowed with a dip of his head. "The apprentices were all busy and it was time to make sure everyone had been fed."
Hazelmarsh gave a small shrug. "The apprentice's were busy," he meowed, dragging a paw across the ground. "Is there anything else y'all need? Water, fresh moss?" His amber eyes were wide, tail kinked up over his back.

"Perhaps there is. The kits have been restless. While I feel they should be too young for such advetureous tendencies they seem to have more energy than I would have ever imagined. Could you find them some feathers?" she purred tiredness in her voice. She had done all she could think of to keep her four kits entertained but she was running out of ideas and they were still too small to play with the other kits.
Aspenkit clumsily crawled over his siblings and the edge of the nest. Knowing no harm would come of the moon old kit she didn't stop him as he pulled his small round body to Hazelmarsh's paws. The tom-kit pressed his aw to his repeatedly as if swatting at an animal. He squeaked out a long meow.
Uncertainty clouded the tom's gaze as the kitten took hold of his paw. Hazelmarsh had never had a mate, therefor never been around kits as young as this. Despite his uncomfortable feeling, he couldn't help but let out a soft purr as the kitten attacked his foot. Gently, he grasped the young tom in his jaws and placed him back at his mother's belly. "I would be happy to bring back some feathers," he rumbled with a smile, dipping his head at the queen.
Turning to exit, he shot a look at Juniperwater over his shoulder with a smile before pushing his way out of the den and into camp. Padding out with a purpose, Hazelmarsh began his quest to hunt down a bird.

Suedesplash padded past Hazelmarsh as the tom exited the nursery. His ear twitched in curiosity. He had been on his way to visit his sister and nieces and nephews. "Good day Hazelmarsh. What task has your attention?" he purred assuming a cat leaving the nursery with purpose and intention in their eyes had been given a task they could not refuse from a tired queen.
"Feathers," the grey tom replied with a smile. "Juniperwater requested some feathers for the kits to play with after I brought them some prey, and being that I had nothing else of importance to do I thought I could track down a bird or two and do so for them."
"Do you mind if I come with you?" A timid voice spoke up, as a sleek she cat padded up to the pair. Just recently she had been scolded for butting in to things and was a little nervous is might happen again. But she had been watching Hazelmarsh and Suedesplash talk and had realized she wanted their attention. Wanted their attention enough to ignore the memory of her recent tongue lashing and approach them. "I promise I'll be helpful!" She tacked on, unable to smother the flirty undertone, and the perhaps little more than friendly grin towards the toms.
As the small, sleek figure of the she-cat approached, Hazelmarsh turned his ears back. "Uh, yeah," he meowed, nodding to the both of them. "Six paws are better than two." Without waiting for a reply, the skinny grey tom bounded towards the camp entrance with his tail flicking behind him.
Frowning at the lack of response to her flirting, she decided that perhaps she was being a bit too subtle. Maybe the two toms were of the oblivious sort and just needed more blatant cues. "So are we going somewhere particular? Where do you think the best place to find birds is?" She asked aloud. Putting her plans to try and woe at-least one of them on hold while she actually put some effort into their task.

"I hear the berry bushes just south have a few sparrows that peck at the fallen fruit. Maybe we could try there?" He asked Hazelmarsh as he followed behind.
Giving a curt nod, Hazelmarsh replied with a short, "Sounds good to me." With a wave of his tail, he lead the way out of camp and into the sparse forest beyond. New-leaf was really starting to show, bright greens and sweet scents everywhere.
