Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Anyone can join in at any point in time throughout this thread! Also, we are patrolling Moonclan border so anyone who has cats in Moonclan are welcome to interact! Remember: Nightclan basically owns Moonclan at this moment. Moonclan does not have a leader yet and Nightclan is part of the Pride in which have taken over Moonclan!)
Larkwing waited for his patrol to gather. They were to patrol the Moonclan border but not to start any trouble. They were there to keep an eye on them to make sure Moonclan isn't stirring up any problems. He turned his baby blue eyes to the darkening sky. It had been a fairly warm day compared to the harsh winter they had gone through however, now that the sun was sinking, the air gradually grew cooler ans he had to fluff up his fur against an icy breeze that swallowed any trace of warmth that day. He didn't really want to go patrol the Moonclan border. Hed much rather lay in a nice warm nest. Though unfortunately he had responsibilities and patroling was one of them.
The large form of Wolfriot stood next to the deputy, his paws kneading the ground in anticipation. His long claws gouged at the soil, leaving scars in the dirt. "Are we going to get going soon?" he asked impatiently, wanting to get moving. Besides, he hoped there would be a MoonClan cat or two that he could knock around, he needed to practice some battle moves. The cool breeze hardly penetrated his thick fur.
"Alright, the others can catch up. Hopefully we wont run into trouble" the deputy decided, heading toward he entrance. Once out in the forest, the breeze picked up, sending clouds over the stars and the moon. He squinted his eyes in annoyance, praying for no snow. The wind rattled the bare branches above them and causing a creeking sound. How was he suppose to hear anything with all the noise? Perking his ears, he lead the patrol through the forest. "I kind of wish Burningstar hadnt agreed to become part of the Pride" he mumbled, not really caring if anyone heard him or not.
Fernshadow s ears pricked, she frowned slightly. Sure Frozenfire had taken advantage of their position of control to be a foxheart towards MoonClan cats. There were benefits. “While I don’t know if holding MoonClan is a good idea, the Pride has only been a benefit to us,” Fernshadow pointed out. “With our alliances with SunClan and DayClan, we have had mostly peace on our borders. Sure there’s MoonClan we have to control, and our old alliance was troubled...” she said slowly “But considering that groups like WinterClan were often acting aggressive, there’s a benefit of all the forest clans acting as a unit... even though we have to control one...” Fernshadow said quietly
"The more NightClan controls the better," Wolfriot said in a gruff tone, shooting a look through narrowed eyes at Fernshadow. "We are the strongest Clan, therefor need to hold our place above the others." His pale amber eyes gleamed with excitement, thinking about the life they could have if NightClan ruled them all.
Larkwing shook his head, "just because we have alliances, doesnt mean there is peace. I dont trust Foxstar. Not since she took over Dayclan and Springclan. She could be planning something awful. Sunclan could end up being the superior clan if we dont start looking out for ourselves. Nightclan should not be involved in any of this." The clan deputy looked at the ground, flattening his ears as he spoke, fear for his clan clouding his mind. "If we want to remain alive, we mustn't involve ourselves in the other clan drama...but Burningstar is our leader whether we agree with her decisions or not. I'm just saying that I would do things differently if I were leader."
"Don't let Burningstar hear you say that," Wolfriot said with a curl of his lip. "Some cat's might call your a traitor hearing that. Be careful where you speak and who you speak to." Wolfriot turned towards the camp entrance as if nothing had happened, his ears pricked and alert.
He had never meant to throw Burningstar under the bus. He hoped no one thought of him as a traitor. He admired his leader and respected her even if he didn't agree with her decisions but he didnt want to argue with Wolfriot anymore. They had more important things to attend to. He headed out toward the border without another word. Instead, he took to the back of the patrol, watching his paws as he walked. He just wanted to keep his clan safe.
Feeling a small bit or triumph, Wolfriot stalked along behind the deputy, keeping his head low and jaws parted. The pine scent that covered most of the territory was sweet to him, it sharp scent clinging to everything. This early in new-leaf there was hardly any scent of prey, just the smell of cold and wet. "If we scent prey we can hunt, yes?" he asked, pushing his way towards Larkwing's side. "The Clan needs to be fed, as do we."
Larkwing was annoyed but he didn't show it. "Thats a good idea. The clan needs to be fed too. We can hunt on our way back" he suggested. They neared the Moonclan border though their markers were rather weak. "Hmmm...seems like they haven't really been patrolling their borders." he pointed out.
"Yeah, MoonClan is really weak right now." Fernshadow said. It was said scornfully, just matter of factly. She shrugged her shoulders. "They don't really have the cats to keep up with their borders, that's why we've been doing it. Frozenfire says it lets us keep an eye inside and outside the border." She said. "But I think it's not bad, we free up MoonClan to hunt for their clan and we keep their borders with fresh cat scent and keep rogues or other animals from becoming an issue."
Larkwing thought about what she said with a nod. It made sense. "Okay, lets start marking then" he headed toward the nearest tree between their borders and marked it.
"I'm just ready to not have to babysit a whole other Clan," Wolfriot grumbled, stalking past them a few tail-lengths and beginning to mark. NightClan scent flooded the area, there was hardly any trace of MoonClan. "It just makes them seem so weak."
"We aren't babysitting. When Sunclan captured Springclan and Dayclan, they were babysitting. No, Moonclan are doing their own thing." He responded to Wolfriot, marking the last marker.
"And I agree with you" Larkwing added to the tom. "But things are the way they are. Until I'm leader, Burningstar makes the rules for Nightclan. I only enforce them." He had spoken to Burningstar before about being part of the Pride and having an alliance with Foxstar. He didn't trust her as far as he could throw her. Which wasn't very far, surely. He knew that if he was leader of Nightclan, he would have done things differently. Though he strongly supported the warrior code that many cats and clans have abandoned, in which states that the leader's word was law.
Silvershine of Moonclan sat in a tree, watching the patrol. She wasnt keen on Moonclan being overtaken by the pride. She narrowed her blue eyes and jumped from the tree, landing gracefully onto the forest floor. "You think we enjoy it? We had no choice. Foxstar took advantage of us as soon as she heard we were without a leader."
