Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Alright, alright! Mdessage received, bud," the tom growled, beginning to stalk off in the opposite direction. "Remember, Sunbeam...You know where to find me." He padded away with a flick of his ear, disappearing into the undergrowth of the rogue territory.
Sunbeam felt the tension in her muscles loosen, letting out a breath that she hadn't been aware she'd been holding. "Let's go," she muttered darkly, beginning to walk away without so much as a glance in Cardinalheart's direction. "...I have something to go tell my children, after all."
"You don't have to tell them," Cardinalheart replied, feeling sympathy for Sunbeam. "I stand by what I said, I will have him killed if he dares to cross the border. You're happy here and so is Blissrose and Tundrapaw, personally I don't see a reason to risk changing that, unless you feel it's the right thing to do." he stated. "But I'm assuming things didn't end so well between the two of you?" he asked.
Sunbeam paused. "Things didn't really end between us," she muttered. "That's the problem. I acted like I never wanted to see him again when I first came here when I was pregnant with Blissrose, but I still ended up going back to him...It's only natural that he doesn't believe I don't want to see him."
Cardinalheart nodded in understanding. "Well let's hope he got the message this time." he stated. "I get the feeling that if he's allowed to hang around the border he's going to cause a lot of trouble." he added.
Sunbeam shrugged. "Probably..." she muttered, casting a dark look back to the border, where she could still see the last few traces of his form disappearing into the undergrowth. She shuddered. Even if he stays away from the border, I know we'll end up meeting again somehow regardless... "He'll cause trouble no matter where he goes. That's what he likes to do. Hopefully, he'll do it in some other Clan next time."
"How'd you even get tangled up with someone like him?" he asked curiously. "You don't seem like the type who'd hang around with troublemakers!" He added jokingly.
"I hang out with you, don't I?" she chuckled, with a huff of mock-indignation. Her smile soon faltered however, as she began to recall the memories of the beginnings of their relationship. "He didn't seem like much of a bad guy when we first met..." she muttered, eyes unfocused. "...I was a fool."
Sunbeam laughed. "Everyone?" she said, starting to feel a little better. She still wasn't sure what she was going to tell Blissrose and Tundrapaw, but she at least felt a little more confident in ability to make the right decision. "Who's your person, then? The one you trusted, but shouldn't have."
"Ha! That's a long list!" Cardinalheart replied lightheartedly while frantically searching his brain for a name that wouldn't either come with a really long story, or deep personal secret. "Tarantulastar, for one," he blurted out. "But then again, he fooled all of us." he added.
Sunbeam winced and nodded. "Bringing him up is cheating..." she murmured, giving a glance to the rapidly-disappearing border. "What do you think he's up to now...?" she said idly. "Probably putting a gang together, plotting revenge on us all...if he's not dead by now, that is."
"Unfortunately, I do not think he's dead, but I agree that he's probably up to no good." Cardinalheart responded. The thought of that was giving the dark red tom a little bit of anxiety. "I would have thought that we'd of heard or seen him by now or that he'd just cause trouble until we killed him but he just... disappeared and I'm not sure I like that too much."
Sunbeam nodded slowly; she known what it was like to be looking over your shoulder all the time even before she'd come to SpringClan. "He can't hide forever," she opted to say, able to meet the deputy in the eyes for the first time in a long time. "Types like him aren't satisfied with lurking in the shadows for too long - eventually, they can't resist the temptation to come out and try and strike wherever they can. But we'll be ready and waiting for when they do, right?" she asked with a small smirk. She didn't just mean Tarantulastar this time - she meant Thoth, her former mate, too.
