Her pale green optics were narrowed as her gaze bore through the undergrowth. Somehow, the mouse could not feel her menacing presence and Tuskblood successfully snapped it's neck with one paw swipe. A very quick-lived, very simple smile of satisfaction lit up her face as she watched the life drain from the creatures form. She thanked her ancestors, and Starclan, for the kill and buried it with the others. It was a good feeling knowing that you would be providing a meal to the elderly, nursing mothers, hard-working warriors and apprentices, or any of the other vital cats in the clan. She could only hope fortune would continue to smile upon Summerclan for a while longer. There were so many new, sturdy mouths in the Nursery who needed nutrition and strength to grow into warriors. Tuskblood shook her head as she realized she had gotten lost in thought. Sitting around like fungus on a log would not help her clan grow strong.

"Any luck?" Ravenmask asked as he padded up to Tuskblood. "I've got a few in a stash on the other side of that rise." He stretched out each hind leg in turn. "I don't know about you but I feel I've been in the hunter's crouch all morning." He was pleased with his catch but he wasn't one to boast. Today seemed like the first day in a long time he had this good of a hunt, at least since before the cold winds of Leafbare had settled across their territory.

The dark-furred feline turned her attention to Ravenmask and gave a nod in greeting. At his question, she let out a snort. "I've had a good hunt on my end as well, but I agree with you. My legs may permanently stick into a crouch in a bit." Tuskblood became more serious as she added, "I am glad the prey is finally crawling out of their warm holes. It's been a difficult Leafbare. We can only hope it stays this way."

"Yes," the gray and black warrior said as he nodded his head. "I really hope Newleaf proves to be much better." Just as he spoke, a snowflake drifted down in front of his face. With a sigh, he swatted it. The pretty crystalline structure melted instantly on his pad. "Seems like Leafbare just doesn't want to leave."
