He was a bit bigger than an apprentice, but not much. There was no doubt in any cat's mind that Moonquest was one of the smallest cats in the clan. However, he had one of the most titanic spirits. He was one to try and try again until there is nothing left but to succeed. That kind of drive is what earned him his name. His thirst for adventure was evident through the bright gleam in his eye as he gazed up at the stars. A frown flickered on his maw for a moment as he glanced around. Adventures by yourself weren't fun... Maybe his next quest needed to be making a couple of friends? A part of him always felt a bit shy at the notion since many doubted his abilities, but it was about time that he quit throwing himself a pity party and just tried. How was he going to do that at night, though? Many of his clanmates were asleep at that moment...

Brightwing felt at ease out here during nighttime. During the day, she had to worry about the looks and running into her clanmates. The muffled questions from kits and apprentices alike, the annoyed glares from other warriors when she asked them to repeat their sentences. It was difficult being mostly deaf in a clan that expected something else from her. Something she did not have and could not provide. Fortunately, Ravenstar was patient with her even after Dragonrage's death and for that she was extremely grateful. She did not see or smell the nearby warrior however and despite his rather loud footfalls, they fell away on her deaf ears.

Moonquest was in a daze and was about as oblivious of Brightwing as she was of him. It didn't take long before the two ran 'smack' into each other. "OOPS." He exclaimed, scrambling to his paws. "Are you alright?! I'm so sorrrrrrry!" His eyes narrowed against the dim light as he tried to make out the form in front of him.

She cowered a bit, more out of surprise than actual fear. The orange and white she-cat looked up from where she partly crouched and partly lay to see Moonquest. "ah, I-I'm so sorry I couldn't hear you coming." It had really become habit to apologize. This was probably her fault, right? She wasn't entirely sure but she hadn't expected to meet anyone out here that was for sure.

"No, no, no! It was totally my fault!" Moonquest insisted, leaning down to help her up. "Sometimes I am so ditsy and drift off into dreamland." His worry turned into a laugh as he realized she wasn't hurt. "You are Brightwing, right?" The young warrior had heard that she was mostly deaf, so he attempted to speak up so that she could hear him.

She nodded shyly, her large honey gold eyes shining in the moonlight as she studied him further. "You're... moonquest, right?" She wasn't sure if she had said that completely right but she could hope.

His whiskers twitched with satisfaction as he guessed her name right. To be honest, he was really bad with remembering names so that was a feat for him. "Yep, that's my name!" Moonquest purred, happy to know that she knew it. "So, what were you doing before I tripped you up?"

"Ummmm.... walking...." She replied quietly and awkwardly. She wasn't really sure what else to say? In truth that's all she had been doing this entire time and she simply could not hear or smell him approaching. "What were you doing?" She asked shyly.

Moonquest let out a snort at her response. "Of course. A daily walk is good for the soul, right?" He was the type that liked to think of the best possible scenario for everything. Why would someone go on a walk? For soul health, of course! Oh, she asked him a question. Turning back to the she-cat, he gave a bright smile. "I was just thinking about my next adventure!" He responded brightly.

"Adventure?" She asked, whiskers twitching as her interest was piqued. His answer reminded her a bit of her brother who was long gone by now but she was still reminded of him from time to time. "What kind of adventures?" The warrior elaborated onto the initial question. After all, she didn't want it to seem like she couldn't at least understand that much.

He hesitated to answer, realizing he was not exactly sure what the next adventure would be. "Honestly, I'm still trying to decide." He laughed in response, giving her a cheeky grin. "Do you have any ideas?"

She shook her head ever so slighty. "I don't often go on adventures with others." She admitted. Even her brother had spent most of his time with Ravenstar when they were apprentices and she was Ravenstone, he had chased after her day and night with hearts in his eyes and she had focused a disproportionate amount of her time on training and proving that she could become a warrior her clan could be proud of. "That's not a bad thing, though, I think. To not know what your next adventure is, I mean."

"Well, let today be the day that we go out and explore the world!" Moonquest meowed brightly, brushing his coat against hers and staring towards the unknown. He then peered over, a bit more shy now. "That is, if you want to go..." He knew that he could sometimes be a little too much for others to handle. Perhaps she felt the same as them and didn't want to join on the adventures.

"I would love to." She admittedly shyly, her ears growing a bit warm. It was unusual for others to invite her along to things and too participate but she was embarrassed to admit that she wanted to come out loud. Then again, he would never know if she didn't tell him, right? "I think it would be fun."

His blue eyes lit up happily and tail shot up in the air as she agreed to come. He was beginning to feel like he might have made a friend! Those definitely came few and far between for the hyper tom. "That's great! Thank you so much!" He gushed before adding more shyly. "Let's go then." He whisked his plumy tail and began to trot towards the opposite side of the territory.

"Okay!" She sprang up after him and followed with a trot in her steps, a small and somewhat shy smile on her face. It was nice to feel included for once. Often times, cats where quiet while speaking and annoyed if she asked them to speak up or repeat what they said. She was much better at reading body language and lips in order to understand them but Moonquest talked just loud enough that he was easy to hear and it was such a breaf of relief. Of course, everyone knew she was pretty deaf but just then with him she felt like any other warrior and it was such a warm feeling.

Moonquest could hardly contain the excitement that made his whiskers twitch like a kitten's as she followed him. He honestly did not mind repeating anything if he needed to because he talked a lot in general. Plus, the silvery tom was very animated so she would probably catch on to what he was saying. "We are going to head that way. Are you okay with leaving the borders for a while?" He asked and pointed with his tail to the loner territory past the border. There was a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he glanced back at the unknown territory. It would be a little uncomfortable exploring a territory they weren't familiar with, but it would be so much fun!

Her deep honey eyes followed his tail to gaze beyond the border and she tipped her head, considering it for a moment. He clearly wanted to go past the border and truthfully... she'd never done that before. They had borders for a reason, to keep them safe and give them claim to the land under their paws. She knew this, of course, but that didn't change the fact that it was an exciting prospect. Her brothers, Lionpaw and Dragonrage, were no longer here to stop her from doing what she wanted simply for her safety. Of course, even though Ravenstar was no longer with her brother she took care of the she-cat but.... it was her choice and no one could tell her no.
Brightwing nodded with a small smile growing on her face as she nodded, but scared and excited by the prospect. "I've never been beyond the borders." She admitted a bit sheepishly.

He grew more excited as she responded. "I've only been past them a few times, but I'm still here to tell the tale!" He meowed encouragingly. "If anyone fights us then we can fight them off." A part of him was joking, but he also felt a little nervous at the thought of moving beyond the borders. He suddenly grew shy and his ears backed against his head a little. "Thank you for agreeing to come with me." His heart fluttered at the thought of their soon-to-be adventure. It was nice to have someone with him this time.

A warmth spread over her cheeks and back as she nodded. "Thanks for inviting me." She whispered back shyly, embarrassed to even say it. No one really invited her to do anything anymore. She just... existed. She did her warrior duties as she learned and was instructed and before she knew it days, weeks, months, and seasons had passed as if she wasn't really even there but a watcher in the window.
