Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Aylik had been tasked with keeping Tasman safe. However, it was impossible for him to always be there in person, so instead, he'd asked a particular set of twins to keep an eye on her. Not that they really needed convincing, he'd just expressed the need for it while he went off on his own for a few hours. This was mostly to listen to the cats of BrookClan, away from the chaos of the rest of his family. He could blend into the background and catch things Dinara couldn't with her natural charisma, and at the same time, he half hoped to draw out a Harlow. He was Tasman's right hand, and he doubted they were ignorant of such closeness between them. Alone, they could have half a hope of getting him to admit something, if they understood the game they were even playing, that is.

Unfortunately, Kellen was not aware of the game they were playing. It was interesting how the Harlow tom, direct bloodline to Kerrigan through their own mother and father, was so calm during his sister's disappearance. The cream tom almost seemed more relaxed than what he did before. Don't be mistaken, he did care for his sister. However, her rules had never been his drink of water and the chaos was interesting, for sure. His eyes drifted around the camp, almost in a bored fashion, before they fell on Aylik. Oh, that was interesting. He wasn't with Tasman...
No, Aylik wasn't with Tasman, and he supposed that was an odd thing. They were close, more so than the rest of the E'clair litter, and usually, they were together. Feeling the gaze of another on him, his eyes locked onto Kellen, cold where the other tom relaxed. And why shouldn't he stare at the Harlow tom with a look of displeasure, if not downright hate? Kerrigan had had his entire family slaughtered, and for what? Daring to question her decision regarding an alliance with the League. Stripped the remaining five podarok of their royal status and cast them to the side to rot.
As if to make a point, the Voiny's eyes narrowed at the Cyd, and he dragged his gaze away sharply to watch the rest of BrookClan. The Harlows had been questioning him almost constantly about his potential involvement in Kerrigan's disappearance, and he wondered if Kellen too would try his paw at it. He didn't seem like the type to go around accusing others of orchestrating a coup, but in this sort of chaos, who knew, really?

Kellen was not surprised by the tom's gesture. Honestly, he had been expecting it. Kerrigan's poor decisions unfortunately reflected on the whole family, no matter how hard Kellen wished they wouldn't. It was just a part of being in the royal line. Still, he answered Aylik's narrowed eyes with a semi-friendly smile. It was just cool enough to establish that they were not friends, but not necessarily enemies either. The creamy tom was known for being the odd duckling in their family. He was care-free and had a bright personality. However, he couldn't be considered kind; just indifferent and inwardly pessimistic.
Deciding not to give up on this little adventure down acquaintanceship lane, the Cyd picked his way over to Aylik. He was prepared to face the coldness the tom was surely going to fling his way. He may have looked forward to it some. "Hello there. I do not believe we have met yet. I'm Kellen." He greeted evenly, the smile still present on his maw.

"I know who you are." Aylik replied stiffly, eyeing Kellen with a look that was suspicious of the Cyd at best, and downright hateful at worst. Maybe Kellen was different, and Kerrigan was just particularly terrible as a person, but to him, it didn't really matter. None of them had publicly spoken up, protested the slaughter of nearly an entire royal line, all because one cat dared to question the new Tsar's decisions. That made them complicit.

"Ah, good to meet you to." Kellen meowed sarcastically before carrying on, "So, Aylik, yes? I'm assuming that you want me to ask about my sister?" He flashed a gleaming look in the tom's direction before shrugging. "You have nothing to do with her disappearance. Personally, I think she just frolicked off after running out of rules to create." He spoke so nonchalantly that you would think he had no love towards his sister. Somewhere deep inside he did love her, but he just didn't care about where she went. He did not believe she was dead or being held hostage, so he was not worried. "But anyways, I really didn't come over here to talk about that troublesome cat. I just figured it would be nice to meet these cats who half my family blames."

"I feel honored." Aylik quipped, "Glad to know I'm hated for nothing, as usual. Are you going to just stand there while they kill us for a false rumor? Just like you did before?" On one hand, he was acting. He knew Kellen's type enough to understand the tom would never act when it would hurt him, no matter whether he agreed or disagreed with a decision. On the other, it wasn't hard to inject true anger into his tone. Kellen deserved everything he might get for sitting back and keeping his mouth shut.
