Larkwing was glad to see that everyone had escaped from the jaws of the foxes, for now. He then spotted something out of the corner of his eye. Some kind of movement just a few fox lengths away but he couldn't make out what it was. He didn't want a secret attack so he made his way over to make sure there weren't more foxes that were going to attack them. Looking down into a small dip, he suddenly understood everything. Just before he could say anything, he felt a pierce into his back and the world flipped upside down. As one of the foxes shook him like a chew toy, Larkwing attempted to claw at the fox's muzzle. However, his efforts were for nothing. Each time he swiped, he only felt his claws hit air and he could see his own blood dripping onto the ground, staining it crimson.

Twilightpaw aimed at the fox Frozenfire had gone for but decided it would better to stand guard in front of Brightpaw and Bleakwind, in case they came this way.
Brightpaw looked at the warriors wide-eyed, marveling at their bravery.
Allencatch detached himself from the fox and stepped a few feet away. He needed more than just himself to go after one fox. He followed Larkwing's steps and tried to swat at it, waiting for the others to come attack.
Frozenfire without hesitation leapt in and struck the fox Allencatch was fighting, stretching her jaws wide open and biting down hard on the canine creature's shoulder, digging her claws into it's sides clawing with all her might. The beast yipped and twisted trying to bite her but Frozenfire kept a firm grip on it with her jaws, and her claws flashed out any time it tried to snap at her. But the fox was starting to move around, moving towards a tree to slam Frozenfire against it.
Bleakwind seeing Larkwing in trouble, "Brightpaw stay here." He said before he ran towards the fox that was shaking Larkwing, snarling he launched himself at his sides slashing his claws down it's flank before ducking under it's lashing tail and coming up to swipe on it's other side aiming to confuse it, and make it lash out at him, and free Larkwing.
The fox dropped Larkwing and snapped at Bleakwind, though it couldn't seem to land a bite on the quick cat. Larkwing nodded a thanks to Bleakwind before helping him wrestle the fox. This was pointless. No one was winning or losing. They would have to retreat. However, he knew the foxes would only chase after them. He would have to sacrifice himself. He had to get both of the foxes to chase him. "Retreat! Don't head for the camp! Meet me at the river!" He yowled to his clanmates before clawing the eye of the fox Bleakwind and Larkwing were fighting then instantly jumping to the other and tearing it's ear. "Come get me, flea pelts!" He hissed, turning away and pelting into the forest. Angry, both foxes took off after Larkwing, just as he had planned. He had only hoped his clanmates would listen to his order. He couldn't risk his finest warriors injuries. As he lead the foxes away, his injury from his scruff slowed him down and he could feel the breath of the fox's. He had to climb a tree as soon as he felt they were far enough away from his clanmates. Just as one of the foxes was about to latch onto his tail, he leaped up a tree and climbed as high as he could then turned to look down at the foxes. They circled the tree for a moment before turning and darting off, cries of frustration escaping their pointed muzzles.
After a few moments, he climbed down from the tree and headed in the direction he had told his clanmates to go. He limped to the river where he met up with the rest of his patrol, all accounted for.
Frozenfire gritted her teeth ears flattening and eyes narrowing in annoyance. She'd been fine! Well the fox had been looking to slam itself and her into a tree but she'd been totally fine! She let out a low growl but went over to Twilightpaw, "Guess we'll go to the river then." She grumbled annoyed tail lashing as she headed that way.
Bleakwind made sure Brightpaw was still okay before leading her to the river as well. Glancing back to make sure Allencatch was coming.

"Why'd you ask us to retreat like that!" Frozenfire snapped once they were all regrouped. "We didn't need to go far, who knows where those foxes ran off to now." She grumbled tail lashing.
"Back to their pups!" he growled, annoyed with Frozenfire's disrespect. "There was no way we could have won that. They had pups they were defending. It's a no brainer that they were more hostile than usual. We will have to find another way to get them out of the territory" His body was really starting to hurt now. The blood drying around the open wound.
"Oh great! So not only are they on our territory, they've been on it long enough to have pups?!" Frozenfire said outraged.
Bleakwind sighed, "We'll need a new plan of action then for sure. Those foxes will fight to the death otherwise, and though we could pull it off, it'd be a gamble I'd rather not take. Perhaps we can try to lure the pups away from their den, destroy the den and leave the pups elsewhere drive off the foxes and hopefully they'll resettle elsewhere."
Frozenfire's tail lashed but she said nothing eyes narrowed as she tried to plot what was the best option.
He ignored Frozenfire for the time being and listened to Bleakwind's suggestion. "I think you might be onto something there, Bleakwing" the deputy mewed, thinking for a moment. "We would need a distraction for the foxes while we move the pups." Though luring the pups may be harder than what they expect it to be. "I'm not sure if they are old enough to be lured by prey...do you think they would chase something? Create some kind of fake bug or something and drag it where they will chase it?"
Allencatch agreed with Frozenfire; he wasn't leaving knowing the foxes were still on NightClan territory. "How will we get to the pups without the parents detecting us?" he asked. "We need to keep their interest long enough to get them far enough."
"We should just assault the den," Frozenfire said. "Maybe there's something in the scenery, like maybe they're near a ridge where we can dump a big rock on the den." She said. "Squish the whole lot of them."
"that would be an unlikely outcome, they'd likely notice such an effort." bleakwind said to which Frozenfire responded with an annoyed growl. "If we can draw out the parents with some prey they might come out. Maybe we can lure the parents to the waterfall, then the rest of us can get the pups out."
Larkwing actually felt bad for the foxes but he knew his clan came first. He thought about Frozenfire's proposal. As much as he hated the thought of crushing them, it would be a much quicker death than starvation. "Maybe we can leave prey out for the parents with death berries stuffed inside and when the parents die, we can crush the pups?" Just saying those words felt sour on his tongue and made him sick to his stomach. He wished they hadn't come onto Moonclan territory. He wished they were somewhere else so he wouldn't have to be the one to order this.
Allencatch understood Larkwing's somber tone. "I know it sounds terrible, but we can't risk them coming back to our territory. We can't push them into another Clan's territory that's just.. worse, in my opinion." the ebony tom commented.
Larkwing gave Allencatch a grateful glance for his understanding. "I know. I just wish it didnt have to be this way. So is this the plan? Does everyone agree?"
Frozenfire nodded. "It's perfect, the fox parents proved they'll take a bite out of anything. Stuff it full of death berries and then that solves that problem. Then the pups will be too stupid to get away before we crush them, or bury them alive." She added with a shrug.
"We wont bury them alive. That's not a quick enough death for them." He responded, wanting to keep it as humane as possible. "Frozenfire and Bleakwind, you can go find us some death berries. Allencatch and I will go hunting for a couple of rodents to use as bait."
Frozenfire rolled her eyes, clearly not seeing the point of any consideration being granted to the fox cubs.
Bleakwind frowned. "I will take Brightpaw with me, it'll be good to show her how the deathberries look when they're actually growing." He didn't think a cat like Frozenfire should be made aware where the deathberries grew. He didn't think there was a real chance of treason in her, but she'd proven to be a fox heart. He would not grant her unbridled access. "One of us should go look for a rock we're going to use to crush them. Since Frozenfire is keen on getting the job done as the rest of us, she's up to the task."
Frozenfire shrugged, "Fine, I can go find a boulder big enough to crush the fox cubs nearby."
"Okay, that sounds better. Thank you, Bleakwind. That's a good idea, take Brightpaw with you. Frozenfire, why don't you take Twilightpaw with you?" He suggested with a nod.
