Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Coyoteway hummed as he sat outside the nursery, keeping half a ear to the sounds of his kits playing within. He was not exactly the fatherly type, but he liked being near them as he considered his plans towards getting them within the Black Hand with him. Liked to consider which ones could make the cut and which ones would not by listening to them play, already knowing some would be to soft. Though he supposed that wasn't too strange, he had left them with their mother too long perhaps.
Burningstar was staying in the nursery a lot these past few days. Keeping close care of her adopted children, likely trying to fill the void left from losing her litter with Devilhorns.
Thus, Soaringbird had to take a more active role taking up a spot in the black hand as well as assisting Burningstar with running things. She slipped out of the nursery after visiting with her sister and spotted Coyoteway, "Hello, Coyoteway, i assume you're here to watch your children? Theyre doing quite well,"
"I'd hope they're doing well, it'd be shame if I swept them away from their mother just for them to perish soon after." Coyoteway hummed, a tad snarky, with a raised brow, casting a sideways glance towards Soaringbird. He made no attempts to hide is lack of respect towards her position in the black hand. In-fact, much like his sister, he often took opportunities to show her she wasn't needed. Not hated, not even disliked personally, the tom just felt, again much like his sister, that the black hand was a legacy position among their family. It was how it was pitched to them and he was not afraid to express his diappointment that it hadn't turned out that way.
Soaringbird tilted her head narrowing her eyes at him. "Right." She said slowly. "Though I don't think you'll have to worry, Steathclaw's keeping a close eye on them, the loss of her litter has made her very careful with your children. You don't need to worry they're in good caring paws." The silver and gray tabby she cat assured him.
Truthfully Soaringbird couldn't say that the Black Hand position had been one she'd coveted much. But she understood why Burningstar had put her on it. Not just to get the number closer to the desired 5 warriors, but also to have Soaringbird have a paw in the ongoings with the group, at least as they tried this brand new roster of cats.
Humming Coyoteway's mind turned towards Stealthclaw and the inevitable hassle it would be to rid his kits of her eventually. But that was a problem for the future. "What are you up to then Soaringbird? now that you've visited your sister. What is it you're going to occupy your day with now?" He wondered curiously, casting a sideways glance towards her as he tilted his head. Such a simply question seeming like the beginning of an interrogation coming from him.
"Probably get some training done with Seapaw," Soaringbird said flicking her tail, "Maybe check in with Rasputin or my kits," She mused. "After that probably do some hunting. Why? Did you have something you wanted to do? Or something you'd like the black hand to do?" She asked eyes brightening a bit. "Burningstar's telling me we might be getting a task soon, she's a bit curious to see what's up with SpringClan. That Eternalstar seemed shifty," The silver and gray tabby she cat admitted.
Coyoteway gave a small shrug, towards her question. "I hadn't had anything definite planned, was just curious about your plans. As towards what I'd like us to do, well I'd like us to perhaps be a little more known to the other pride clans. Perhaps more known to Moonclan. But the pride clans won't be out allies forever and it might be smart for them to know when they try to stab us in the back we'll be ready. Springlcan, well I agree, Eternalstar seemed to have her warriors under close watch at the gathering. It seemed... odd. They were stiff, almost stilted in interactions; as if afraid of making a wrong move. But it could have be our presence along with Sunclan. Speaking of Eternalstar, does anyone know where she came from? I didn't think I saw her among the Springclan prisoners when they were captives."
"She was certainly not, especially for her to have risen to be leader at least," Soaringbird said. "Burningstar also was wondering that, she saw every cat of SpringClan's that we sent to SunClan, she never saw Eternalstar among their number. She wonders if perhaps SpringClan's old leader has been unseated and Eternalstar has taken over while SpringClan was weak... But I don't know. It was hard to get a good bead, the SpringClan cats were very tight lipped you know? Which yeah they wouldn't talk to us of course, but to everyone. They just... were keeping to themselves really." The silver and gray tabby sighed. "We will certainly have to do some investigation it seems."
Coyoteway grinned at the thought of being able to exercise some of his skills, afraid he was getting dull the more he lounged around Nightclan, seemingly without a set purpose. "Should we set that up on our own or will Burningstar want some input?" He didn't know the leader well enough to know what she would want in this situation. When he arrived most of his focus went to reconnecting with his siblings, and figuring our Nightclan as a whole. But now that he was thinking on the topic he realized he should perhaps take a moment to try and speak with Burningstar; if he could get a moment of her time.
"She'd prefer us to speak with her, though part of the reason im here is so i can help be a liasion between the leadership and the hand. In this case we'd best discuss with her. I'll speak with her for us to meet and discuss at some point. Shes concerned as ami, but we already have moonclan to concern ourselves with, and after winterclan held so many of our number," Soaringbird curled her lip, "We want to tread carefully, dont want to drive SpringClan to ally with WinterClan."
Coyoteway's lip curled a little at the word liaison, at the reminder that she wasn't a true member of the Black Hand, at-least not in his own opinion. He wondered if he could convince his sister to visit Springclan with him. He was sure it wouldn't be hard for him to convince her that they needed to take the initiative, especially when Soaringbird seemed ready to cripple them with her bowing to things like procedure. "We'll wait then until we an speak to her. Now should I let you go so you can go train Seapaw?"
Soaringbird nodded, "That'd be appreciated, thank you Coyoteway, I'll try to see if we can meet with Burningstar to discuss tonight if you'd like," She offered her fellow Black Hand member.
Nodding Coyoteway slipped away, leaving the other warrior behind as his thoughts turned towards the topic of Springclan, of Sunclan, and Dayclan. Not to forget Winterclan either, wondering what Burningstar's end goal was with it all. Only for a moment though did he worry about these big topics before he let them fall away, decidedly unworried about such large topics. Choosing to instead focus on the smaller things he could manipulate immediately. Perhaps he would go cause trouble in Moonclan.
