Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. It was a matter of seconds, a trained precisions not needing training; it was instinctual, born into her very bones. There was the quiet rustle of leaves, followed by that moment of the senses coming to life, prickling with a jolt of sudden awareness. The scent of mouse perfumed the air, the rustling returned once more, then stopped. It knew she was there, yet not that it had been found. She dared not prowl farther forward, the slightest indication of her intentions to near the skittish creature would have sent it deep into the depths of the forest. Freezing could only be relied on as a temporary response after all.
No, instead she leaned forward, feeling the shift in weight so natural that, in reality, she didn't feel it at all. Her eyes narrowed to slits, a moment of intense focus, of energy before release, a flash of lightening before the thunder.
She leapt. One moment cradling a tiny body too shocked to move between a cage of claws, a moment later holding its corpse in her jaws, limp in her maw still slightly swaying from the swift stream of motions that had taken it from life to death in a matter of seconds.
