Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He could still hardly believe he was an apprentice. Life was... crazy. It moved fast. His brother was already a medicine cat! Tenaciouspaw was proud of his brother, but he didn't envy him: who wanted to play with herbs all the time? He got to hang out with his new mentor, Robinegg, and a new partner, Beetlepaw, so he thought he definitely got the better end of the deal. The older apprentice could teach him all the secret nifty ways of fitting in with other cats and maybe he'd finally make some friends.
"Beetlepaw? Has anyone see Beetlepaw?" Tenaciouspaw stood in the center of camp looking around nervously for his New Best Friend, worried that he had already been abandoned. And it was their first day together...
Duskwing huffed, "Who wants to know?" She grumbled.
"Mom he's my partner," Beetlepaw said his mother having wanted to check him over after he'd gotten a brief case of Whitecough, he was recovered now, but his mother wouldn't stop hovering. "I've gotta train now," He said pushing himself to his paws and heading over to Tenaciouspaw. "I'll talk to you later."
Duskwing's eyes were worried. "Be careful! Don't push yourself too hard!" She warned. "And Tenaciouspaw don't be too rough with him?"
Beetlepaw groaned ears pinning back in frustration as he flicked his tail for Tenaciouspaw to follow as he hurried away from his mother and headed out of camp. "Sorry, sorry, my mom's a bit... overprotective at times. But uh, yeah! We're partners!" He said trying to sound bright. "What uh, what would you like to do?" He asked.
He shuffled his paws, relieved and then embarrassed, as he listened to the exchange between the pair. He wished he had a mother like that, one that cared about him, instead of the one he had. She had left them alone here because she couldn't take the pressures of the clan. Sometimes he wondered if that was why nobody liked him...
"Uh, don't worry! I'll be, uh, gentle! If he is! I don't really know how to be mean, anyway," he mumbled under his breath. He dipped his head, then darted swiftly after the other apprentice, nearly tripping over his own paws in the process. "She, uh, seems nice," he suggested. "I wish someone cared about me like that."
He shook his body and considered. "Um, I didn't, um, think that far ahead. Sorry."
