Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Divinekit sat outside the nursery, the first of his siblings to venture outside the confines of his nursery. His blinked, his two mismatched eyes taking in the hustle and bustle of NightClan's camp. A grin spread across his face, as he charged out of the nursery fearlessly. Today was his day, making it his mission to explore every inch of their camp and commit it to memory.
His short bobtail quivered in excitement , as he raced from one sight to the next. He barreled into the apprentice's den and then to the elders den, and even waltzing into the leader's den before emerging back into the clearing. There were so many new things to see, so many nooks and crannies to explore.
"Woah there! Where do you think you're going?" Laughing, Wildpaw followed the kit out of the apprentice's den and watched him race about. Newly returned to the clan from his WinterClan imprisonment, he had no idea who this kit was - his story, his name - but he loved him already. He could always appreciate a cat with energy and optimism, and this kit certainly seemed to have the former. He trotted a few steps after him, holding out a paw to slow him down.
"Might want to ask about before you go charging into all those dens, you might upset someone if you step on their tail," Wildpaw told him.
"If a warrior is to slow to avoid my little paws, than perhaps the should resconsider their positions" he chuckled, a little grin appearing on his face as his frenzied limbs finally came to a halt. His tail however, well it continued to wiggle.
"After all, it's not like I am running around in the elders den. I could see them getting angry.... but warriors and apprentice? Well they should always be prepared for a surprise attack" he got into a play bow and swiped at the air to emphasize his point. It was only after his speech that he realized he had no clue who he was talking to.
"I'm quite sure that was Burningstar's den you just came out of," he chuckled. "Besides, some of those warriors are grouchy as any elder I've ever met! I think they're old and just don't want to admit it yet. They wish they were young like me." He winked one of his blue eyes.
At the claim about his smell, Wildpaw laughed aloud. "That's right! Take a good whiff, that's WinterClan you're smelling. Pretty awful, huh? I just spend a few moons hanging out with them and let me tell you, they aren't nearly as fun as NightClan cats. You're lucky to live in a nice place like this!"
"Yes, isn't he." A long legged chausie tom drawled as he moved into the conversation, casting deep golden eye down towards his son. A sharp contrasting image to his fathers own grizzled brown and auburn pelt, with his sweeping tail. As he stared at Divinekit he absently noted how little tact his son had, to be so bluntly telling others they smell funny. Such bluntness would never be suited for the black hand.
Looking up once more his eyes turned to the apprentice and he tilted his head, "ah Wildpaw. I hope my exuberant son hasn't been ruining your return, I'm sure you're still adjusting to your freedom once more."
Father and son, it seemed, though glancing between them it was hard to see the relation at first. "Not at all! He reminds me of brother, so curious," he promised hastily, and laughed, reaching over with a paw to playfully scuffle the fur on the top of the kit's head. He nodded in answer to the question, glancing back up at the black hand warrior. "It's nice to be back for sure," he agreed. "I can finally stretch my legs again."
Divinekit took the apprentices words, as an invitation to take a good whiff of the scent that clung to him. He closed his eyes, taking in the cold scent that reminded him of the green tree branches that were sometime brought back to camp.
He was about to open his mouth to tell Wildpaw that he needed to take a bath, but was silenced by the stern golden gaze of his father. His his ears drooped, easily picking up on the disappointment on his father's face. Divinekit didn't care how most cats viewed him, but he put a lot of weight behind his father's words. He was a well respected member of the clan, and for some reason he had always looked at Divinekit with that disappointed gaze. Even if his father didn't treat him differently, it still hurt. "I'm sorry for bothering you..." he apologized looking down at the ground.
Even as the other cat's paw ruffled the fur on his head, it was easy to see the change in Divinekit. He closed his eyes, before opening them. Determined to do better He thought his father would have been proud of him for his explorations, and being the first of the litter to leave the nursery behind. Instead he had just embarressed him.
Seeing is the turn around in his sons behavior had Coyoteway giving a silent nod, pleased that Divinekit could at-least pick up on his subtle cues. Before he turned his attention back to the apprentice in curiosity. "Did you not have enough space to even do that, stretch your legs, in Winterclan? I had heard rumors they kept you in a pit but I thought that would be too unsanitary even for them. If I were to keep prisoners it would not be in a pit of all things." He scoffed with scorn.
Wildpaw noticed the kit deflate at his father's presence. He understood that all too well. His siblings had gotten on with their parents fairly well - Jaggedcrown had taken after their mother, and his father had gotten on well enough with Bleakwind - but he had always been too tempted to explore, too restless, too rebellious. It wasn't easy having a leader as a mother and a mentor and they had fought on more than one occasion. He might love and miss her now that she was gone, but he couldn't say he missed feeling her disappointed looks weight heavily on his shoulders from across the camp.
"I don't think they were too concerned about our health," he replied with an amused twitch of his ears. "Except for the useful prisoners they mostly ignored us. Sometimes they'd bring a prisoner up for a fight or two, but other than that, we were left well alone. There was enough space to move around, but not without invading everyone else's space, and the other cats weren't always so kind about that." He couldn't blame them. Moons in that cold, barren pit being trampled by other cats would have annoyed him as well. For the first stretch of his imprisonment he had been valuable to the clan and kept safe from the brutally rigged prison fights against apprentices, but once Shiverstar disappeared he was just another apprentice. If NightClan hadn't come to save him he feared he would not have lasted too long.
The small white tom sat silently off to the side as the two older toms talked. He just wanted to get back to his explorations, but he willed his paws to stay still. His blue eyes wandered over to the dens that he had yet to explore, their dark depths looking more enticing than the conversation going on beside of him. He tried to listen, but it was difficult for him to understand. He didn't really know what a pit was, nor what it meant to be a prisoner. In his young mind, it might as well have been the same as saying that he had been invited to WinterClan for some sort of fighting competition.
It was really his deternimation to please his father that kept him glued into place, trying to look attentive to the words being passed between the two of them. His blue eyes darting from one to the other, and then to the dens.
Divinekit's silent fidgeting finally got on Coyoteway's nerves enough for the tom to take notice of him once more. Turning and twitching and ear as he watched his son struggle to sit still, an amused grin creeping into view. "Shoo Divinekit, but please stop being a nuisance. If you're going to explore be a little more stealthy with less blind excitement. Keep control of yourself." The black hand warrior finally cut his son some slack. He glanced over at Wildpaw and he amused grin only grew wider as he leaned in as if sharing a secret. "You can play with him if you want Wildpaw. But I request the same for you, stay out of trouble perhaps. No need to cause a ruckus when you've only just returned." Pulling away, bored of the conversation and the company the tom trotted off. Slipping form camp to go who knows what.
Ornatekit watched her brother curiously from the nursery, perfectly poised and pelt groomed to perfection. The white she-cat with her black and orange spots having been awoken by Divinekit but having lazed about a little longer. Not nearly as energetic as the other kit.
With his father's words, he rose to his paws dipping his head respectfully. He tried to contain his excitement, and managed to hold back the squeal of joy that he probably would have let loose at any other time. He backed up a few steps, before trotting off towards the elders den. No knowing what lied withing, and assuming that Wildpaw would want to keep talking with his father.
However seeing his sister at the entrance to the nursery, made him change his course "Finally awake sleepy head?" he purred, "I have been exploring all morning, and I only have one more!" he exclaimed, trying to reign in his tone and voice volume "Want to join me?"

Brightpaw had just emerged from the medicine den when she spotted the two kits bouncing around. "Awwwwww, they're so cuuuute!" She said to no one in particular. She grabbed the bundle of coltsfoot she had and began sorting it out, picking out the dying ones and viable ones in different piles.
