Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her eyes shifted to the weak rays of light filtering into the church from the world above. She left the camp some time ago to distance herself from the cats there, and it had worked. Vesuvius had not talked another Coalition feline for several days, and it was great. She was minding her own business, and everyone else was doing the same. She rose to her paws and walked over to the prey pile. She gingerly took a piece and turned around to see a growling cat staring at her.
Aria had been more testy since she'd given birth to her first liter of kits. She hadn't meant to growl at Vesuvius, but the piece the other cat had taken had looked delicious. And she was hungry.
Vesuvius stared in Aria's eyes for a long moment before tearing her gaze away. Who did this she-cat think she was? "Nice try. You can find something for yourself. "
Aria rolled her eyes at the other shecat. Right. Like she could go two steps without nearly stepping on her kits. Whatever. She glanced down at the kittens that seemed to stay under her wherever she went. It was weird, but she didn't remember seeing any kits do what hers were doing when she was watching the group while she was hidden away by her mother, nor while she was learning how to hunt and fight in WaterClan.
Aria really didn't like Vesuvius though. The other shecat seemed to have some problems.
Pluto darted past the two she-cats, intent to not getting in their way or between their fight. The High Sage wasn't one for confrontations if it could be helped. He'd honestly rather sit back and watch, then give his input on anything. Grabbing a bird from the pile, he tried to scramble back through where he came from but nearly stepped on a kit in the process, mostly because he couldn't see around the bird.
It was not like Vesuvius to walk away from a confrontation, and Aria's little roll of the eyes was all she needed to warrant one. She dropped her bird and stared into the new mother's eyes as if she were searching for Aria's soul. "I want to make this clear. I don't care about you. I don't care about the parasites running around your feet. I do care about my well-being, which, fortunately, does not involve you." Her eyes broke from Aria when the High Sage nearly stepped on one of her kits. "Besides, I don't think you should be hating me right now..."
Aria shook her head at Vesuvius, not bothering to respond to the other feline's words as she ushered her young kits towards the nursery. She'd be back to her duties as soon as they were old enough to not need her milk since there weren't really any other nursing cats in Absun Lux. When the High Sage almost stepped on one of her kits, Drip-kedi to be specific, it took all she could to not hiss at him. Maybe now her kits would heed her warning to not get under anyone's paws.
