Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was never her plan to have a family, but it happened and the Heda had to deal with the consequences. Granted, she separated herself from them most of the time. Nemesys told everyone else that she had no time to look after her own, and a part of her believed the lie, but she expected some knew the truth. As much as she did not want to interact with her family, it was a necessary evil. Nothing could be worse for politics than abandoning one's own kin. With that thought in her head she took a deep breath and stepped into the graveyard. Her voice caught in her throat for a second before she called for her kits. "My... sucklings, come to me."
Sprawled out on his back, paws reaching absently for the sky, Balagan's sweet giggles floated through the graveyard. He had quickly learned how to entertain himself, but it was never quite as much fun as playing with other cats, so he was eager to hear his mother call for them. He flopped over and rose gracefully to his paws, shook out his coat, then bounded over to join Nemesys. "Hey Momma!" he chirped, golden spotted tail waving.
She hated that word. Momma. The Heda hoped to never hear it directed at her, but she did this to herself, and she had to deal with the consequences. She only sighed before smiling weakly at the suckling. "Yeah, I'm here to see how all of you are doing..."
Levi'a-kedi sprinted from one of the corners of the graveyard when she heard her mother's voice. Her amber eyes were alight with joy. She never visited the graveyard. Never! But she was here now. The golden tabby tried to skid to a halt as Balagan-kedi blocked her path. She collided with him with a dull "umpf" and rolled to the ground.
"We're doing great! Except Levi'a-kedi." He frowned down at his sister as she wiped out beside him, then giggled. He liked how funny they all were. "How are you doing, Momma?" His head cocked to the side and he beamed at her.
