Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Hey sweet pea, It's been a while" he greeted striding up to Autumngossomar, the she-cat that had first caught his attention as a mere apprentice. After being attacked by a coyote, he hadn't been able to see her very much. He had been confined to his nest until the wounds had closed, everyone worried that they would open and the bleeding would begin once more.
Even now cobwebs were wound tightly around his midsection to help prevent infection, but he was finally allowed to roam the camp. He had been told to take it easy, but the moons of confinement had left him itching to do something anything.
"You're going to make me blush Lovepaw, but I'm a Janus now. I can't let little apprentices call me sweat pea unless I really was your sweet pea and I think it's clear you have a wandering eye," She said in the most up tight voice she could muster before very lightly pinching his cheek with her claws, "Maybe when you're a big strong warrior you can again," She teased with a big amused grin she couldn't hold back any longer. They were the same age after all and pretending to be the way she was to everyone else to him? It was hard not to blurt out laughing.
"I'm kidding, Lovepaw, but don't tempt me, mercy please. You know it was hard to say no to your advances before, but really. I'm happy to see you back on your feet, I've really missed seeing you around."
She had grown up a lot since the last time she had seen him. She still had the same kitty cat complexion of a much younger cat and brown eyes that no one in the entire clan could match, but her body was muscled toned, taller, and decked out in henna black detailed designs that she made some poor cat reapply to her on a regular basis.
"I'm going to make you do more than blush, sweet pea" he winked, not really bothered by the fact that she now outranked him. In his mind, Janus or not, she was the same cat. "After all I haven't seen you moons, so we have a lot of catching up to do." he moved closer, a sly smile tugging at the edge of his lips. The cobwebs were still wound tightly around his midsection, the scent of the herbs filled the air between them.
"Yikes, I said mercy," Autumngossamer grinned teasingly.
She placed a paw over her chin thoughtfully, "Hmm. I witnessed a cat forcibly give birth and I never want to have kits so that's new I guess. Other than that I've been kind of bored, no one to really out or punish. I'll probably have to visit the border more to mock some DayClan cats or pick a fight with MoonClan patrols, something interesting," Autumngossamer shrugged before letting out a perky oh noise, "And there have been quite a few traitors! I know that they went to DayClan, their scents all over there, but I can never find them. I don't know, maybe they didn't go to DayClan, they want me to think that they did when they just walked through there and took a left or something to somewhere else. Our cats are clever like that. Not to mention some ditched us for other places like Darkcomplex's kits left for Renegade Regime. I can't believe they'd rather live there than here," Her pelt bristled.
"Aw now I'm surprised you letting a little something like that scare you away" he purred. "You never have been the type of cat to let such things get through to you, so don't start now. Perhaps I can help you with that fear my lady" he added suggestivly , but then laughed so that she would knew that he wasn't being completly serious.
"And as or the traitors, I'm sure you will will figure it out. You are as smart as you are beautiful, they don't stand a chance with you among the Janus"
"Eviiil," Autumngossamer laughed at the toms playful jab. This time she looked him over more carefully, "We should go patrol the borders, Littlebird's doing everything herself now that Foxstar's gone, she shouldn't have to tell us to go on a border patrol. Well. Maybe you, but you're old enough to know better even if you're an apprentice," She purred, but her brown gaze kept catching his. She wanted him to be hers, but only hers and last she'd seen him there was enough of him to go around. But she never shared.
She nudged him in the shoulder suddenly, "Oh my gosh, just fess up and stop making my mouth water around you. Are you serious? Like you keep making all these cutesy little remarks and I could enjoy catching up with you or I could cut to the chase like now cause," Autumngossamer rubbed her head slightly and through shocked brown eyes like she couldn't believe what she was going to say spoke, "I really like you Lovepaw, but if you still want to fool around with others then we just can't be."
The words felt right once they left her mouth. Was he tempting her or was he cluing her in that he's only tempting to her because she was the only one for him? But what if he was just tricking her and would move on the next moment he saw another she-cat. So she added, "Mainly because if you cheated on me with one of our clan mates I'd murder them and I don't know how tolerated that is."
"Well I will come along, but if we are attacked you are going to have to put your new skills to the test" he winked motioned towards his still bandaged midsection. "Littlebird said no fighting for me,at least until I'm fully healed" he trotted along humming happily, but as she kept talking he slowed to a stop.
He wasn't really sure how to answer her, how to put all of his emotions into words. He had never really felt this way about anyone before, though how he felt towards his siblings was close. She was easy to talk to, and he enjoyed just being with her. The other she-cats that he flirted with were more of a distraction, a way to get his mind off of his own worries. He didn't really care for them. Being stuck on bedrest, he worried over her. Hoping for some sign that she was ok after the battle.
"Autumngossamer, I like you... perhaps even more than that" he paused realizing that he had referred to her as he name for the first time instead of a pet name, and as he tried to put what he was feeling into words. This was hard for him, and the usually smoothe tom seemed to stumbled over his own words
"I want to be with you, but I don't know how to be with you. It has always been me and my siblings against the world. To let anyone else in is dangerous, the only ones we could trust were one another. A moment of weakness could cause a irreparable crack in our unity. I have done things in my past that I'm not proud of. Things that I will never be able to tell you, for it is not my secret to share. I'm not perfect. It hard for me to open up about my feelings, to let others into my life. I flirt... I won't deny it. I have been looking for someone to share my life with, but always being afraid to allow them in. It's always been easier to break their hearts before they broke mine. But it's different with you.... I want to put my trust in you... I want to be with you... But how can I do that when there are some things that I will never be able to tell you. How can I love you when you deserve so much more?" the words he spoke rang true, even as fear began to creep into his voice towards the end.
"At some point you must start asking yourself about the bigger things in life, is the danger, the person worth the hurt? Do you want to have and lose a thousand hearts or hold onto one?"
It was like everyone said, young, yet had the mind of a thousand year old Goddess. She picked apart the aspects of life she found beautiful, joy, love, loyalty, superiority, and delicately planned and detailed each piece of life she fell in love with till she was certain she could picture it. This was how she left DayClan for SunClan, she already knew her heart that SunClan would make her happier than DayClan ever did. She knew Foxstar was a leader she could get behind far more than Glowstar. That she wanted to be Janus more than anything in the world and there was very little that could cross her path to make her change her mind. And here she knew she wanted a tom that would make her happy, one that returned the same affection she'd give her. Someone that made her a better person, someone that was more loyal to her than they were to themselves and her to them. Loyalty was very important to her, but Lovepaw was loyal to his secrets, to filling in voids that he'd never share why they were empty to begin with.
"I can't take a risk on someone who won't do the same for me. I know you look around at other she-cats, I'd want a tom who has eyes for me only, I want to be enough," Autumngossamer said, her voice almost whispery soft. Her brown eyes were glittery to look at, "I want you too Lovepaw, but it's a two wait path, I'd be taking all the risk if you don't try to change too."
"Don't you know that any tom would be lucky to have you?" he paused, sensing her insecurity under the surface of the words that she had just spoken. "You are drop dead gorgeous, more clever than any fox, and your spirit burns brighter than sun"
He moved close letting his tail brush across her side "You have always been more than enough for me You are everything I could have ever asked for. Don't you EVER think for even a moment, that you are anything less than perfect. The problem has always been me. From the moment I first set eyes on you, I knew that you deserved better than what I could offer you.As a Janus you are destined for great things. What could I offer to you? All I have is my love for you. I don't have a family that will love you as one of their own. I don't have enough rank to support your ambitions"
He moved forward, putting his tail around hers"but if you will have me, I will give you what I have. It's not much, but it's all I have.I can't promise you the world, but I can promise that you will be the center of my world"
"All I ever wanted was someone to blindly love me and do whatever I want!" Autumngossamer almost squealed with joy and let out a bit of uneasy happy laughter that she had been keeping inside for so long. She let out a big sigh, "Yes. So long as you don't cheat on me, yes, I-I really like you," She said, staring up at him with a smile that started out shy, but grew more confident until her lips moved ear to ear. She fell into his side and frowned, "And what I never knew I wanted was that... I didn't just want to be loved, I wanted someone to love and-"
She stared into his eyes and smiled once more, "If I have you then I truly have it all. So... Do you promise never to cheat on me? And then I'll promise to always devote my love to you too."
"I promise" two short words, but it showed everything that he needed to say in that moment. Adding anything else would only take away, as he leaned and pressed his nose to her forhead
