Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

( Just a standard thread for all Senators & Initiates. c: )
Usually, Mountainsound would have been one of the cats to lead a gathering between the Senators and Initiates, teaching the future SunClan cats about the clans' customs and ways, explaining their code and ordering them around with menial tasks. Currently, however, she couldn't do any such thing, as she was currently teaching the medicine cats of EarthClan how to effectively heal their clan. In her place, Darkcomplex, a former initiate himself, had offered to help for the day, despite not being a Senator. He, at least, was more sympathetic than most, understanding the worry one might have at the risk of death when attempting the trial.
"Ready to begin?" The tom questioned, glancing around at the cats around him.
Gem nodded, looking at Darkcomplex with wide green eyes that were as vibrant as the new leafs growing upon the trees.
The young calico she-cat had been drawn into the clan by Honeysplash, one of SunClan's toms that had filled her head with promises of love and devotion. She had fallen head over heels for him, and left her old life behind her, just to be with him. Of course that meant that she would have to go through initiation. She didn't know anything about it, other than it was dangerous.
This was her first patrol as an initiate, although she had to be careful. She was pregnant with his kits, and only hoped that she would be able to pass her initiation before her little ones would be born.

Luckily for Gem, this was a rather easy patrol. They were simply walking the borders while the Senators, and himself, talked, explaining things and answering questions. Better yet, Gem wouldn't need to worry about her kits' status in the clan, as they would automatically be inducted as members, regardless of the fact that their mother had yet to finish her initiation. "We'll be heading for the gathering place first. Are there any immediate questions about initiation as it has been explained to you thus far?" Darkcomplex asked.
So far she didn't really know a lot about SunClan, it ranks, its traditions, or its rules. She had only been here for a day or two, and Honeysplash had been to busy to explain very much to her. She had no clue that he kits were guaranteed a place within the clan, nor what the initiation really was. She had spent her time here exploring SunClan's camp, and trying to learn the names of the cats around her.
"Well Honeysplash didn't really explain what the initiation was, just that it was a test of my true intentions and faith? He also said that it could be dangerous" she paused, knowing that she probably sounds like an idiot agreeing to join a clan knowing nothing about it. She gazed down upon her slightly swelling stomach "Will it put the kits I carry in danger? Or will I have to wait until after they are born to do this initiation? Will they have to go through the initiation?"
"No, I suppose he didn't. Yes, initiation is dangerous. It is a test in which your heart is examined by out deity, and, should he find and traitorous thoughts or disbelief in your heart, you will fail, and you will be killed as a result." Darkcomplex wasn't in the business of lying, especially not when lives were at stake. "I am the only one in my litter who passed, for example. This isn't a test you can cheat, either, I should know. If you have not kitted before taking your test, then yes, your kits are at risk. However, should you wait until they are born, they will be welcomed automatically as members of SunClan. They do not have to take initiation, as initiates are meant to be twelve moons or older, with some exceptions that are decided by Foxstar or Littlebird. Such as being from a rival clan, or returning to SunClan after choosing to leave. Do not fear about when you have to take the test, however. We usually leave it up to you when you want to take it, whether that be within a moon of joining, or many moons later." Again, that had exceptions, but the silver tabby left that part out, as it generally wasn't relevant to those who willingly chose to join SunClan.
Gem hadn't been so scared for herself, but she had been worried about the kits that she was carrying. I helped to ease her mind that these kit would be allowed to join no matter what happened to her. "Thank you. I think I will wait until they are born to take the initiation test then. That way no matter what happens to me, they will be safe"
Though now that she explained the test, she was even less worried. She knew what was in he heart. She just wanted to be in SunClan with Honeysplash and their kits, to see them grow up to be strong. "What is the Sun God like? I can't wait to meet him. Honeysplash said you can only see him after the initation"

Darkcomplex chuckled at that last one, though he winced ever so slightly. "That would be false. Initiates can see him quite well. I almost got turned to ash by thinking I could be rude to the Sun God. You shouldn't have any problems, however, if you act respectful. It is entirely possible he may even show up sometime today. He likes to see the potential newcomers in the clan." Not to mention, cats who actually saw him tended to realize fairly quick that this deity wasn't a joke, and in turn, were more likely to pass.
(Lol and yes there is a reason to him telling her that lie XD) Gem seemed to brighten up at the thought of meeting the Sun God, her eyes twinkling with excitment. "I hope that I get to meet him. I will try my best to be polite, but I don't know a lot about SunClan customs yet. Is there anything I should avoid talking about? I don't want to offend him. "
Then her mind wondered back to Honeysplash. Why had he told her she wouldn't be able to see him yet? Well he never went through the initiation, so maybe he just didn't know. Or maybe he didn't want her to be scared?
Whatever the reason, she was sure that Honeysplash only had good intentions. He was so sweet and kind, that even if he had lied on purpose she had to trust that it was for her own protection.

(Oh, I'm sure there is. xD)
"So long as you don't go praising the Moon or insulting him, you'll probably be okay. It'll be fairly obvious if he's starting to get irritated." Darkcomplex advised. He wasn't sure why Honeysplash lied about the entire thing, but didn't put much thought into it overall.
Gem blinked and then nodded, grateful for all the advice and guidance that she was being given. This was all new to her, and there was still so much left to discover. For a curious she-cat like her, this was like a big puzzle that she needed to put togather.
"I want to learn all about SunClan so that I can teach my kits the right way. I know there is a lot more for me to learn, but I don't know where I should start?" Gem waited for the other cat to respond, knowing that they would have a much better idea of where she should focus her attention on
"How about we start with the code." Darkcomplex suggested. "That is the basis of what you'll need to know for SunClan. The ranks, and even some of the history can come later, as belief in the deity, and obedience of the code are the main things that will contribute to your success or failure in your trial." It wasn't everything, of course, but it provided a solid building point and encouraged questions as to why or how they did things, and what things might be gray areas.
"That seems reasonable" she agreed dipping her head to allow the other cat to explain. Honeysplash had told her that the code was like a set of rules that all SunClan cats followed. She supposed it would be very important to learn about the code, so that she could teach it to her little ones, and so that she would be accepted into the clan.

"Rule 1: The word of the High Priest is law. Only the Sun can overrule it." He answered. "This is fairly simply, but extraordinarily important. Foxstar's word is law, and unless the Sun God himself contradicts an order, we are to do as she says." In some ways, this was a terrifying rule. It meant, largely, that Foxstar had free reign to ask anything of anyone, no matter how ridiculous, and they could not refuse.
"ok... but what if Foxstar makes a mistake?" Gem tilted her head to the side. Everyone made mistakes right? She supposed she would have to go to the Sun God himself, but how did one do that? She hadn't yet met the deity, nor did she understand that he often took physical form. "I suppose we just pray to the Sun God? Make a sacrifice of something?"
