Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Spottedfox sat near the edge of camp, her pale green eyes calmly studying her surroundings, the analytical she-cat was bored today, which was odd for her. If she wasn't patrolling she was usually hunting but she felt bored of that too, recently. It seemed to be the same routine day after day. She sighed and rose to her paws and padded towards the camp entrance, still unsure of what she was going to do.
"Excuse me dear. Mind if I join you." A sleek pelted tom called, soft cream fur washed with bits of grey padding up to her. Zinfandel's beautiful figure drawing the eye, a build like it was carved from marble and meant to be displayed. He was a newer addition to Springclan, joining after Eternalstar had seen him lurking nearby. The tom was easily charmed by the she-cat, oblivious to her darker nature. And so far he had no regrets joining Springclan, even if perhaps he was a little uncomfortable with their orphans.
Spottedfox's gaze narrowed as she studied Zinfandel for a few moments. She was not a fan of the fact that Eternalstar was bringing outsiders in, despite her dark personality the one thing she had going for her was her immovable loyalty to Clan blood, but she could see why Eternalstar brought him here. She shrugged in response. "If you wish. I'm surprised you haven't figured out most of the Clan wants nothing to do with me." she responded flatly before continuing on her way out of camp.
"I haven't really paid any attention to the relations inside the clan." Zinfandel replied flippantly, waving a tail lackadaisically behind him like a flag. Casting a charming smile towards her, though he doubted it would do anything to thaw her ice. "If I ask you why they want nothing to do with you will you tell me?" He wondered curiously, tilting his head. His strides unconsciously shortened so as to not outpace her with his long legs.
Spottedfox cast another look at the tom, for once someone was actually being nice to her, it felt odd, but nice at the same time and he didn't seem the judgmental type, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she did tell him? Either way he was going to find out anyway. "For starters I'm not the nicest character around here but what really sealed the deal was my relationship with Tarantulastar, if you want to call what we had a.... relationship. It ended with a litter of kits, Wolfspider and Blackwidow and two others who disappeared not long after their father was exiled for killing and banishing the daylight warriors from the Clan." she responded. "What's your story?" she asked curiously, she was interested to know where Eternalstar found this tom.
He blinked and tilted his head, wanting to comment that one couldn't choose who they fell in love with, but it seemed she really would rather not talk about it. So he decided to be polite and humor that silent request. "I'm on of many, I was born into a big litter within a small little family. My mother's sisters and brother lived around, it was almost a little clan. But then one day my mother was murdered alongside my father. My aunt urged my siblings and I to move on and discover new things. My paws eventually ended up with me here after someone directed me to Eternalstar."
"I'm sorry about your parents," Spottedfox said sympathetically. "But how come your aunt didn't want you and your siblings hanging around? If your family was close and all?" she asked. "SpringClan for the most part is a pretty peaceful place to live, although with the recent changes and unrest I doubt it's going to be peaceful for much longer." she added. Although Spottedfox didn't dislike Eternalstar, as a matter of fact, Eternalstar caught Spottedfox's interest, she was curious to see where the new changes would lead the Clan.
"It was awhile ago." Zinfandel hummed with a small shrug, "and my aunt was not a motherly type. Also she was worried that whoever killed my parents was sticking around their territory so she said we had to move. But no one knew where to go and we all had very different places in mind. So we ended up splitting up, my aunt still comes around to check in at times. I haven't seen her since joining Springclan but I'm sure she'll hunt me down eventually."
Spottedfox turned to head towards the meadow, one of her favorite hunting spots. "If you don't mind me asking, despite dealing with others who want to kill you, what's life like outside Clan borders? I've always wanted to experience life as a loner but I have a feeling once I leave I won't be welcomed back."
"It can be a little daunting at times. You have no company but your own which means at tines you might go moons without speaking to anyone. Left to dwell mostly inside your own head with only your own thoughts to keep you company"
"You actually have no idea how awesome that can sound at times, not having to deal with others." Spottedfox replied. "Sometimes I think life would be much easier if I only had to worry about myself and my next meal. But then again living in large numbers has it perks too." She added with a shrug.
Zinfandel hummed in thought, and nodded, he could see after hearing her history why she might like the appeal of being alone. "You'd have to learn some healing then. One does not go through life without any injuries, and if they're bad enough you have to know how to at-least patch it up." He had luckily avoided the worse of injuries, but he had come across plenty of cats who seemed to be waiting for death after getting a wound to severe for their own healing knowledge.
Spottedfox was silent for a few moments while she processed that. She had never really thought about what loners or rogues would do if they got injured. "I guess the good thing about living in a Clan is you pick up some very basic healing techniques as you go." she said thoughtfully. "I frequented the medicine den way too many times as an apprentice due to getting into fights with my denmates." She added with a laugh.
"Ah? A fighter then were you?" Zinfandel asked slyly, sending an amused glance towards her way. "I can say I fought often with my siblings as well, maybe not as you fought with your denmates but there were fights rather frequently." It had driven their mother up a wall as she tried to regulate their behavior; their father having been no help in the parenting department. "I think it helped us bond though, but again it might have been different between denmates. Without blood to attach you."
"There was definitely no bonding going on during those fights." Spottedfox replied with an amused twitch of her whiskers. She turned her paws in the direction of the meadow, she hadn't frequented that spot in a while and decided it would be a good day to do so.
Zinfandel hummed in understanding as he followed his way after her. Trusting the more veteran member of the clan to know where they were going, as he had yet to really explore the territory. Most of his days were spent relaxing with the occasional hunt thrown in. Basking in the lack of pressure that was now sitting on his shoulders. "I miss them sometimes, my siblings that is. But I also feel like splitting up has helped us grow. Probably."
"Do you know where your siblings currently live?" Spottedfox asked curiously. "I know they're probably loners but I'm sure most loners frequent a certain area instead of just moving around all the time..." she added, thoughtfully, but unsure if that statement was true or not.
"I know my aunt is in Primal Instinct. I don't know much about them, but they sound like a group she would fit in with. The rest of my siblings, not sure to be honest. My aunt would know if I wanted to really track them down I would go to her first and ask." He shrugged. "But as you say, I'm sure some are constantly on the move. So it's easier to let them be."
Spottedfox cast a wide eyed sideways glance at Zinfandel. "Please tell me you wouldn't just stroll into Primal Instincts territory to find your aunt?" she asked. Despite what most thought of her, even she wasn't crazy enough to do that. "Everyone at least has a healthy dose of.... respect if that's what you want to call it for the league."
"I wouldn't stroll... I'd linger on the edge like an annoying pest until someone fetched her for me!" The thought that he could instead be attacked didn't seem to occur to him. After all if he stayed off their exact territory they had no reason to attack him. The naivety would almost be cute if it wasn't about almost blindly risking his life.
