Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Flamingsoul stared at her sister, Pinesong. Seriousness and darkness shadowed her turquoise eyes. The sister Pinesong had known in the nursery was not the same one she had grown to know. Flamingsoul was strong and powerful now. Sharp muscles rippled under her sleek ginger coat as she breathed, muzzle to muzzle with her beloved littermate. "Pinesong, I dont belong here. I dont want to belong here! Moonclan is weak! And the longer you stay here, the weaker you will become. I refuse to sit here and obey orders from some soft-pelted know-it-all!" She spun around and lashed her tail, heading toward the Primal Instinct border. "Goodbye, sister."
Pinesong stared blankly at her littermate. She was devastated to see her leave but her loyalty was to MoonClan and that would never change. "If MoonClan is weak then it needs strong warriors to recover." She said, mostly to herself, but half hoped that Flamingsoul would hear her. But then again, MoonClan deserved warriors who wanted to see it grow stronger and would work to make that happen. The other half of Pinesong, the part that loved her sister dearly, hoped that Flamingsoul would find what she was looking for in Primal Instinct. Although Pinesong herself could never fathom living amongst them, she truly hoped Flamingsoul would find her place. Her sister deserved to be happy.
She halted at Pinsong's words about Moonclan needing stronger warriors. "Stronger warriors? There aren't any strong warriors. If it weren't for Swiftstorm Moonclan would be dead. But I dont think he can even strengthen Moonclan to where it needs to be. He is just as soft as everyone else in this clan."
"I never viewed kindness as a weakness. I view it as a strength because kindness isn't something everyone possesses, clearly it's a trait you didn't inherit. I believe firmly in the warrior code and it's ability to keep us safe, not to mention I'm proud of my MoonClan heritage, we come from a long line of skilled warriors and respected leaders. It's a shame you don't care about that." Pinesong shot back, her voice dripping with anger. Her sister's words had stung her. Pinesong cared deeply for her kin, all of them, and their mother had done her absolute best to make sure they were raised firmly but gently.
Flamingsoul lashed her tail angrily. "Fine. While you stay here and go down with Moonclan, I will be high and mighty in Primal Instinct. You can come with me. Leave this low life for something better. Or stay here and become nothing."
"I chose to stay here. MoonClan will rise again and I have no will to dabble with blood thirsty monsters who love nothing more than death and despair." Pinesong growled, digging her claws into the dirt, she had to hold herself back from raking them across her sister's nose.
"Those 'blood thirsty monsters' are my friends!" She stepped forward. "Id never expect my sister to stoop so low to talk about them like that. To call me a blood thirsty monster!"
(Did they both forget they also still had a living brother in Timberfrost?)
Timberfrost hadn't exactly intended to overhear his sisters' conversation but their raising voices didn't help the matters so the small silver tabby tom made his way over to his sisters in time to hear that Flamingsoul was planning to leave MoonClan for Primal Instinct. "You can't leave MoonClan!" he exclaimed. "This is your home and has been since we were born and has been for generations before us. How do you expect the clan to be able to recover and rebuild if the best warriors just up and leave when the clan is in trouble?"
The small tom rarely spoke up let alone so much but he wasn't going to let his sister leave without an argument.
Flamingsoul turned her cold gaze on her brother, "I dont want to be in a clan that cant even stand against Sunclan. I want to belong to a powerful group. I want to be feared by all the clans!" She puffed out her chest and narrowed her eyes. "I want them to look at me and I want to see the fear in their eyes. Neither of you were there for me when the other kits and apprentices teased me and hated on me! Mother and father did nothing! I want those who teased me to suffer my wrath! And Primal Instinct is going to show me how! This is only the beginning..." She grinned menacingly showing sharp white teeth and flexed her claws, her pupils turning to slits.
"Let me make one thing clear, Flamingsoul, I do not fear Primal Instinct and neither will the rest of us once the Clan is strong again and if you dare to lay a claw on any one of my Clanmates in the future, I will personally kill you!" Pinesong snarled. She turned her gaze onto Timberfrost. "We don't need her and neither does MoonClan, our family legacy is of honorable and loyal warriors. We'll all be better off without her." she said to her brother, quietly so hopefully no other warriors around them overheard.
Anger flared inside Flamingsoul and she launched at Pinesong, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and pulling her to the ground in one swift move. She stood upon her, digging sharp claws into Pinesong's shoulder. "Not if I kill you first." She hissed through a grin.
(You can do anything you want to her! Just dont kill her lol!)
Timberfrost was at first startled when Flamingsoul launched herself at Pinesong without much warning but after a moment of indecision the small silver tabby launched himself at his sister as well, hoping to use his weight and momentum to knock her free from Pinesong. He succeeded in knocking her from Pinesong and bowling her over onto her back, with Timberfrost standing mostly over his larger sister. Hating himself for what he was about to do he unsheathed his claws and raked them across Flamingsoul's right ear and face, tearing her ear and leaving long welts that could possibly scar. Stepping back a little he let her get up.
"Get out." he said flatly with a low hiss. "You're not considered part of our family or MoonClan anymore."
Blood splattered the frosty ground as she felt her brother's claws across her face. She yelped in pain before climbing to her paws, holding her paw to her wound. "You fool!" She snarled. She was about to go after her brother when a familiar voice sounded from beyond the ferns surrounding them.
Out stepped the familiar silver tabby queen with that stern look in her pretty blue eyes that they all knew too well. "What is going on here?" Silvershine demanded, her voice furious when she saw what had been done.
Pinesong leaped to her paws, and gave Timberfrost a thankful glance, she was slightly surprised that Flamingsoul had attacked her, but she was even more surprised that Timberfrost had wounded her. Their brother was always more level headed and calm than they had been, regardless, she was thankful he'd been there. Pinesong turned her gaze to their mother. "Flamingsoul is leaving to join Primal Instinct, also she attacked me, Timberfrost was just defending me." she explained, fixing Flamingsoul with another angry stare.
"what?" Silvershine marched up to her kits. "This is foolish!" Anger flared inside her and she was completely shocked that her kits were fighting like this. "Flamingsoul, is this true? Your leaving?"
Flamingsoul kept her paw over her eye, blood trickling down her face. "So what if its true? I dont belong here."
Silvershine's blue eyes turned to ice, "and this is how you say goodbye? Running off without me and your father knowing? And then trying to hurt your littermates?"
Flamingsoul looked away, her paws still over her eye. Her mother always knew how to put her in her place and make her feel bad about what she had done. But the fire in her soul was still there, burning and raging.
