The soft notes of the song rose high on the echoed winds of Silverpelt, as the stars themselves twinkled silently from above; as if in awe of the melodic voice that was singing from the sparkling fields of Starclan. The singer herself was unsure of where the lyrics and melody had come from- perhaps they had always been there- but sitting alone under the brilliant night sky the impulse to open up her heart and let her voice float through afterlife's eternity was too great to resist. As the last notes of her song faded away, Chaman Pebble smiled to herself contently, yet blushed under her grey fur, slightly embarrassed by the unexpected nature of her solo, or perhaps the deeper meaning behind it all. They were words of an emotion that Pebble had felt so strongly for the longest time, but had never acknowledged out loud; partly because she believed she could just admit it another day, when the time was right. But she had run out of time, hadn't she? She had died; time had forever stopped for her. Had things not have gone the way they did; had she not been shown compassion by her own deity, or had even survived the attack that eventually ended her life, how long would she have had to wait then? Had things gone differently, it might have been never.

Losing someone you love, even for a few short hours, really changes one's perspective on life.
