Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Heda did not want kits, yet she recently became mother. She would never admit to the circumstance of their birth, but there were still little ones that shared her blood. It couldn't be any worse. Her scornful eyes searched the cats below for any sign of them.
Jezebelle sat down next to Nemesys "You have that look that says you didn't want kits." she commented. She hadn't wanted kits, either, but she wouldn't change a thing about her life, and they had once been a part of it. She missed her kits that she'd left in SunClan and DayClan.
Did her face give away that much? She sighed and wrapped her tail around her paws. "You're right, I never wanted them. I know it was wrong to think it, but I considered killing them." To the Heda it was morally wrong, but not such an awful thing. It was what almost had to be done for her to remain an active leader, so it would have been justified in her mind. "I just don't have time to raise them."
Jezi forced herself not to give a physical reaction to the Heda's casual mention of killing her own kits. The General wasn't sure how anyone could think that was an option. "You don't have to raise them." she replied after a few minutes. "You just have to check on them after they're old enough to not need milk." She added. She'd been a young mother herself, with a mate in another clan. She wasn't sure whom the father of Nemesys's kits were, but she could guess that he wasn't in the group.
That's what she told herself too, and it was certainly wishful thinking. The little things recognized her, and the group knew she was the only parent in the Clan. Even if she was the Heda and she delegated her kits to the Charged, some responsibility still weighed on her shoulders. Some would call it parental instinct, but the Heda knew it as vulnerability. "Sure, except when they decide to check on me whenever I mingle with the combatants."
"They'll learn when they're older." The General replied softly. Of course, what Jezi meant was that they'll learn to be stronger, to be more independent, and how not to be something that Nemesis would give up everything for. But, for now, they should be allowed to be kits with no worries. It wouldn't last much longer, after all.
She snorted and lashed her tail. "Sure, they may not be in face about their moss balls, but other things will take their place." Her gaze shifted to Levi'a-kedi's golden fur weaving her through the throngs of cats in the church before returning to the General. "Come, let's talk more in my den."
Jezi wished she hadn't had kits in SunClan, but knew she couldn't change the past. She gave a nod of acknowledgement towards the Heda, to let Nemesis know that she'd heard her words.
"As much as I would have loved to stay there, some of my little demons woke up. I can't have them interrupting us." She said. The Heda glanced over her should to check if the kitten was following.
