Tasman sat at the entrance of the old haunted house, her body somewhat tense. It was about the time that she had told her siblings to meet her, which meant that soon she would no longer be alone in this place. Her gaze flashed. It wasn't that she didn't like being alone in the old house, or that she was nervous in any way about anything so idiotic. If anything, she was on edge because the forest had ears everywhere. She had checked the perimeter and the surrounding areas twice already, which meant that she thought she was safe. However, there was still a tension in the air. This tension had existed since the night the Tsar had gone missing. So far, Everette had refused to take the throne in hopes that his sister would come back. That meant that there was a tension that settled everywhere in the Monarchy.
She let out a breath to center herself, before glancing outside the door one more time. Once at least one of her siblings were there, she would feel better. Being alone felt more dangerous now than it used to. She was almost sure that she would get an earful from Lev for leaving their familial den without some sort of companion. She had needed time to think, though. Now, she had completed her thinking, and was ready for one of them to show up.
"Come on," she muttered to herself, shifting her weight between her legs. "Come on."

Asya had slowly wandered to the old haunted house, taking her time. All she was told was "meet me at the old haunted house". Of course, she wasn't told anything, they never told her what was going on. She called out hoping one of her siblings would lead her to where they were. Besides, if she was late, they'd have her tail as well. She never wins in these situations.
She finally padded up to the old, creeky house, sending shivers up her back. Yikes. This ain't it. She walked closer calling their names.
"I'm in here," called the voice that belonged to the long-furred calico. Her eyes moved to her sister's body. It seemed by the slightly disturbed look in Asya's eyes, she had never really gotten used to the fact that this was the best place to have full family meetings that needed to take place in complete privacy. Their den was a good enough place for casual meetings; Tasman had always requested that anything more than casual was done here.
She padded closer to her youngest sister, although her gaze appeared to still be on the door. This meeting was risky. Her siblings didn't know it, but if the wrong cat came through those doors, it was probable that their lives would be on the line for conspiracy. That was not ideal, being that it could be a death sentence for each of them.
"The other's haven't arrived yet," she meowed cautiously, nodding towards the center of the room. "I have prey for each of us if you're hungry."

Asya looked at her sister with concern. She had never seen her more tense and her eye were darting around with anxiety. She felt her heartbeat begin to race as she nodded and headed towards the center of the room. She stepped lightly and quietly as she picked out a small mouse. She was hungry, but nerves had replaced the feeling. She sat there, with her paws tucked underneath her body. She finally gathered up the courage to ask Tasman.
The she-cat offered her sister a smile, one that didn't touch her eyes. "It's nothing to be concerned about," Tasman assured the other, taking her gaze off of the door for more than a few moments to look to her sister. "I promise you. It will be fine." She wasn't a cat whose voice ever sounded unsure, and this wasn't an exception to the rule. Despite her tension, she sounded confident in what she was saying.
She padded over and offered the other cat a nudge. "Have I ever lied to you before when I've said it was fine?" She smiled, before glancing back at the door. "Anyways, the others will be here soon, and then it will be even more fine because we'll all be together, no?"

More pawsteps could be heard approaching and Dinara's fluffy black and white form could be seen approaching. "Oof, I always get the heebie-jeebies when we come here." She chuckled, nuzzling both of her sisters on the cheek. "So why have you gathered us in this...uh..."sacred" place." It wasn't a lie that the place made the laid-back feline a little antsy, but it was kind of fun making a joke of it. She also knew that Tasman wouldn't want them to meet here if it wasn't something important.
To be perfectly honest, Aylik was surprised he wasn't the last one to arrive. He'd taken his time in circling the haunted house, ensuring for himself that there were no wandering eyes or listening ears anywhere in the vicinity. After all, he could never be certain if he hadn't checked it out himself, and much like Tasman, he knew only too well how dangerous eavesdroppers could be, even for seemingly innocuous meetings. He arrived in silence, his gray and white form absent one moment, and taking up space beside his calico sister the next, mind flashing back to previous meetings of this kind, the memories that this place brought to the forefront of his mind. For a few seconds, he was lost among them, burnt gold eyes vacant and staring off into space, before he blinked and offered the smallest smile, along with an inclination of his head to his sisters. "Just waiting on Lev?" He asked, scanning the area once more, searching out the slightest hint of his last littermate's form. Though no one had appeared to be heading this way, he could never really be certain that there wasn't someone lurking around the corner.
Unlike them, he was the cat to really thoroughly check things out. Lev had already found himself irritated at the fact that they had all left without him, especially Tasman. Impatient fools. He scoffed at his own thoughts as he rounded the area. The tom had even been glancing to the treetops, making sure only birds were housed in them. Paranoid? Not exactly. Protective? Entirely. The large tom finally made his way into the house, a growl rumbling from his throat as he did. “Leaving without me wouldn’t be wise, next time.” His expression definitely showed he was not the happiest at the moment, his words quick and to the point.
"Maybe if you weren't so slow, we might have waited." Aylik quipped back, "Besides, we'd have drawn more attention if we went together anyway." He did understand his brother's point, after all. One could never be too careful. At the same time, it was dangerous for them to always stick so close together, and in times such as this, was bound to draw suspicion they couldn't afford. Even if they weren't doing anything wrong, all it took was one of Kerrigan's relatives or supporters to wonder why they were meeting here, and they could be in a world of trouble.
“ She looked at her sister and blinked. “We have things to discuss privately,” She meowed. “This is the safest place. The territory has ears, but here we should be alone.”
She turned as her first brother walked in, and then her second. She nodded to each of them, before speaking again.
“Bold if you to assume that I wait for anyone, Lev, dear.” She turned to her brother with narrowed eyes. “These are not times for you to have an attitude.” Her tone was rather dismissive of his growl. Such behavior was not uncommon for the Tom; he was grouchy on good days. This was not the time to bicker, though. There was work to be done, and she intended to do it. “Aylik is right, anyways. With things the way they are, it is important that we not cause a scene. I’m sure Kerrigan’s family knows that as a group, we should not be trusted.”
These words were said with a unique note of anger in her voice, but it was aimed not at her siblings. It was aimed towards the family in power. She had a quiet disdain for the Harlow’s, simply because it was they that killed Hyde rest of the family to which the siblings once belonged.
“How have the rest of you faired in the anarchy?” Amusement flickered in her eyes. Without Kerrigan and without Everette stepping forward, there was no leader.

"Still in one piece, so I'd say fairly well." Though Aylik's tone implied he was likely teasing, his expression stated he was entirely serious in his assessment as well. After what the Harlow line had done to their own, they were the prime suspects in Kerrigan's disappearance. He'd been interrogated more than he'd have liked to admit, both by supporters, and those that were happy to see the Harlow family go down in flames. He'd been keeping a low profile, head down and pairing himself on a daily basis with those who could vouch for his whereabouts. To be quite honest, he was surprised Everette hadn't launched a formal investigation into their tiny little family. Then again, maybe the Boyar wanted to be more subtle about it, in the hopes that they'd trip up and say something incriminating. At this point, nothing would surprise Aylik.
She laughed at the comment of her brother. It wasn't a laugh because Aylik was particularly funny, her brother was not a comedian, but because what he said was painfully true; they were all in one piece, and that was a good start. They had found themselves in quick a tiffy in the last few days. Although Tasman fully intended to use the period of instability to the siblings' advantage, she also knew that there was a thick danger that came with it. The day that Kerrigan went missing, she had been summoned by a thuggish grey she-cat who demanded to know what she knew. Honestly, Tasman didn't know anything. It was up her alley to stage a disappearance for the BrookClan Tsar; however, this action was not hers.
"That's a good way to put it," she agreeed after a moment, her tail flicking back and forth. "Unfortunately, all in one piece might be the best we can expect for the moment being." She then blinked her eyes. "Eventually, this won't be the case, but for now..." She shook her head. "Did Cynder visit any of the rest of you? I'm still a bit sore from her attack."

"Well, I've made quite a few friends since I've been here. Most of them have tiny ears, long tails, and are in my belly now..." Dinara joked softly, trying to lighten the mood in any way she could. She added more seriously, "I have not received a visit...yet." Her face formed into a half-frown. She could see why the clan was troubled, but why did they have to put all the blame on them? Her eyes shifted from one sibling to the other. She couldn't imagine a life without those four.

"Not Cynder specifically, at least not yet. I feel as though I've been visited by just about everyone else, however." Aylik replied, tail twitching ever so slightly. It appeared as though just about every cat wanted his opinion on Kerrigan's disappearance, and he could understand why. Their line had been harmed by hers, it only stood to reason that they likely had a part in it, and if not, were glad she was missing nonetheless. Every conversation was a minefield of cats trying to figure out his motive, for innocent, and not so innocent, reasons. "I doubt I'll be able to avoid her much longer, however."
His gaze turned to Asya and Dinara, and the tom tilted his head slightly. Pregnancy? Given his sister's words, he wasn't exactly certain that was what she'd implied, but figured that if Asya was wrong, as he suspected, Dinara would quickly correct her.
Lev had hardly murmured something under his breath directed towards Tasman, but otherwise had remained silent this whole time. The tom pressed his lips together at the news of possible kits? More paws to look after. How wonderful. The tom gave a small huff, but had nothing to add, as no cats ever attempted much conversation with him.
“Although I shouldn’t speak for her, perhaps,” Tasman meowed to their younger sibling, “I am quite convinced she was talking about mice and not children.” She glanced over to Dianara, trying to elicit some sort of reaction. Was Tasman wrong? Was the family going to grow ? There was a part of her that held resentment towards the very notion, for two reasons. The first was the timing; how could the five of them rise to power if one was going to be stuck in the nursery? The second was a little closer to home; if it were true, why hadn’t her sister told her she had found a met, or at least had a one night stand ? Was the bonds between them not established upon mutual trust ?
She then nodded to Aylik. “She’s quite brutal. Please, don’t hurt her unless you have to. That’s the last thing that we need right now,” she meowed before shaking her head. Getting into a bloodbath with the throne’s right hand was not ideal, especially because she intended to make him her right hand when she took over.
“Lev,” she turned back to her other brother. “Would you mind staying with the girls over the next few days? If my plan is going to work, we need all five of us in working condition.” She wasn’t directly saying that she didn’t trust her youngest sister to be able to protect herself, but that certainly was the implication. “If you stay with those two whenever the five of us aren’t together, Aylik and I can keep each other company. That way none of us can find ourselves alone if something were to happen.”

Dinara let out a laugh at her sister's notion. It was a light, giddy sound compared to the dreary atmosphere. "No, no. Unless the father is a mouse, I am definitely not expecting kits." She responded, flicking Asya on the ear with her tail. Her ears flicked and she turned to listen to the others banter on, a bit of guilt beginning to gnaw at her belly. Yes, she was just talking about mice... She hoped. After getting together with Blazehowl and their night out of town.. She wasn't sure of anything anymore. The truth was she was beginning to feel the slight nausea and found herself more fatigued than usual. Her eyes watched Tasman, wondering how her sister would react. She was hesitant to tell her, especially now. The last thing Dinara wanted was to be another burden on her sister's shoulders.

Asya's pelt grew hot with embarrassment. "Oh, aha. You really got me there." She squeaked out, sinking to the floor, making herself seem smaller. She whipped her head over at Tasman as the mention of Lev staying with them at all times.
"What?" She said standing up. "Lev doesn't have to stay with us, we can handle ourselves. We're grown cats!" She said almost whiny. "Besides, where could Kerrigan have gone? There had to do be at least one cat that saw her, whether it be BrookClan or another."

The tom nodded ever so slightly at Tasman's suggestion. He didn't intend to bring attention to himself, no matter how much Cynder wanted a fight. Upon Asya's protest, however, he turned his head and answered. "Of course you can take care of yourself. But with Cynder prowling around, we can't afford to take any chances." Aylik reasoned. "And as far as Kerrigan is concerned, I'm sure someone has seen her, but it's not our job to search for her beyond the borders, and to be quite honest, do you really want to?" It was a dangerous thing, to voice his distaste for the Tsar, and truly, he only felt comfortable enough to do it given that he was certain no one was eavesdropping.
