Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her paws sorted herbs into piles in the medicine den, waiting the arrival of Firepaw and Quietnight. It had been a few days since she'd arrived in EarthClan, and the SunClan Senator hummed softly as she waited the arrival of the two healers, having instructed them to eat something before joining her in the den. Certainly, it gave Mountainsound a few long moments to get her affairs in order. It had been a while since she'd taught anyone, the last cat being Foxstar, in fact. Though it wasn't problematic, the blind tabby still appreciated the momentary quiet to collect herself. EarthClan was an interesting place, and it was nice to get to know her mate's home, the place he'd lived and served as medicine cat for a time. Even so, she found herself missing SunClan, despite Foxstar tainting her home, her family making do without her. Hopefully they'd come to visit.
The goal of today wasn't to reminisce however. No, there was training to be done. Herbs were a complicated business, and more than that, Firepaw was extraordinarily young yet. Especially to be chosen for such an important position. From the rumors swirling around, he would be a difficult cat to teach, and the gray she-cat prayed to the Sun God for patience. Of course, she'd managed to keep Foxstar in line when teaching her, a miracle in itself, so she expected that she'd be able to manage with the young tom.
He hated this. Of all cats, why did it have to be him? Firepaw growled to himself as he tore furiously through a squirrel, barely taking any time to chew or savor the taste of the meat. It had been about a week since Solsticestar's "announcement" and a day since his official apprentice ceremony. Apparently, the Earthclan leader had taken that time to recruit a former Medicine Cat from Sunclan to teach him. He, on the other paw, had spent the entire week being forced to listen to lecture after lecture from his parents and every older warrior that happened to pass by; saying things like "this position is a huge honor", or "I know you're disappointed, but this is Starclan's will", or "You're destined to do great things for Earthclan". Mouse dung. All of it. Didn't any of them care about what he wanted?
The young tom ripped another chunk of meat from the fresh-kill. Pondkit had barely spoken to him since the clan meeting. He was probably upset that they wouldn't be training to be warriors together like they had promised each other. None of this was fair. But the worst part about it...he had no choice but to go through with it anyway. All of Earthclan had high expectations for him now. They were depending on him to be a good Medicine Cat. If he flaked out, his whole family would be ashamed of him.
