Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Venus had been through quite a bit lately. Not even her siblings knew the extent of what was going on and at the moment, neither did Limavady. Today she had decided to get away from all of the drama in her personal life and pay a visit to Apollo. Her workaholic brother didn't get much company as far as she knew, but she had a bit of news of her own to give him so perhaps she would be able to take a small break and talk to her. She was already in the garden, searching the area for Apollo since she was almost certain that he would be here. When she spotted him, she put on her usual smile and quickened her pace. "Apollo! Are you busy?"
As per usual, the tom was focused intently on his work, green stained paws working as he sorted herbs into piles all the while mumbling to himself about some experiment or other into the effects of herbs on mice he'd been testing. Despite his sister walking directly up to him, the small tom still took a long moment to actually realize Venus was talking to him, and Apollo whipped around suddenly at the realization, eyes wide with surprise. He was a workaholic, however much he'd deny it, though it was more due to his extreme passion for what he was doing, rather than a desire to really avoid his family. It seemed like only yesterday Mars had told him he was Commander, well, actually, it might have been yesterday, Apollo was notoriously terrible at keeping up with gossip, clan politics, and the like. Half the time, he didn't even seem to realize there were new tykes born until they were already most of the way into their time as a Cadet, and came to him for one injury or another. "Not any more than usual. What did you need? You're not hurt are you?" He eyed her critically, though he noticed no signs of injury. She looked like she'd gained weight, if anything, but even as oblivious as the black and white tom was, he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut about that. He wanted to keep his ears, after all.
(Does he even realize that his nephew is a current guider cadet? One of Diana's boys is a current Guider Cadet cx)
"I don't need medicine Apollo. I didn't come her because I'm sick or injured. I just came to see you." Venus shook her head. It seemed that their family had one thing in common. They all seemed to get absorbed in their work. Apollo was on the more severe side of the scale, but that was not a bad thing. He was good at what he did after all. "You know, it would do you some good to take a break every once in a while. I know your work is important, but so is resting. What will you do if you get sick because you never rest?" She sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws. "How have you been?" She could almost guess the answer to this, but she would ask anyway. It wasn't all that often that she got to speak to him after all.

( There's like a 50/50 chance that Apollo's even realized Diana had kits... so probably not. xD )
Apollo tilted his head slightly. "I just took a break yesterday, what do you mean?" For being such an intelligent tom, the Guider could be infuriatingly out of touch. His 'break' had been to go for a walk, grab some prey, and take a nap. That was his interpretation of events anyway. The reality was that he'd eaten an entire squirrel, all on his own, and passed out in his nest for a good day or so. And that had been two full days ago now. Two days without food, sleep, and only the occasional pause for a drink of water when he noticed he was particularly thirsty. This tendency to get so lost in his work that days would go by without notice was remarkable, but also probably the reason he never grew beyond the size of a young cadet and was perpetually thin, almost to a worrying degree at times.
Shrugging away her worry, the tom offered a bright smile, the expression easy and bright. "Good, as usual. My latest experiments have been a success, and I'm hoping to create a strain of catmint that's more effective at treating greencough next, and grows better underground. It'll be life saving, if I can manage it! I just need to make sure that I can breed the plants to have both traits." For a few long moments, Apollo rattled on, quickly seeming to lose himself in his little speech about cultivating plants, before eventually catching himself and stopping mid sentence. "Er, that's probably enough of me talking, isn't it? How about you? Anything new I should know about?" He looked a bit sheepish for a moment, then intensely curious as he shifted the conversation onto her.
Venus shook her head, her smile changing to one of amusement as she listened to her brother. "I suppose some things never change do they? You remind me of mother with how dedicated you are to your work. Either way..." She was nudging her brother away from the herbs now. "You need to eat and probably rest for a bit. I don't exactly trust your definition of a break." She would take him to Post Echo to get something to eat and perhaps they could chat over their meal. "How is Quartus doing in his training? I doubt Diana ever stops by to check on him honestly, but I know she worries." She hadn't seen her nephew much since he had been promoted to a cadet. She was at least hoping that he was doing well in his training.
Quartus... Quartus. Why was that name familiar again? Luckily, his internal question was answered for him when Venus mentioned Diana, though his head spun at the thought. Wait, her kits had been promoted? Since when? "Her kits were promoted?" The words slipped from his tongue before he could stop them, surprise and disbelief in his tone at this new revelation. Apollo didn't fight when his sister pushed him away from the herbs, whiskers twitching in slight amusement even, following her unsaid instructions without question. Fine, fine. He supposed he could take a small break.
