Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lemonburst sighed to himself as he padded into the forest, trying to recall where exactly it was that he'd buried his prey to take back to camp. He'd thought it had been by the bush over there, near the rogue border, but maybe it was a little closer to the center...? He closed his eyes and groaned, hit with the sudden, pathetic realisation that he'd managed to forget half the territory despite only spending a few moons away from the Clan. StarClan, help me...I'm really taking this getting-kicked-out-of-SpringClan thing harsher than I thought.
Lemonburst blinked as the FallClan leader approached him. "I am disgruntled," he replied, averting his eyes before adding a little more quietly, "I'm always disgruntled." He paused for a few more seconds, before sighing and giving a half-hearted shrug of his shoulders. "I thought it would be much easier for me to come back," he admitted.
The ginger and white she-cat's eyes softened. "This isn't the path you chose, I know." she murmured, padding closer. "Is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable here?"
Lemonburst shrugged, twisting his mouth. "Back rubs?" he deadpanned, though he quickly averted his gaze. "Nah, I'm just...whining. I just have to remind myself that I was...I was never a real SpringClan warrior," he replied, eyes glazing over as he stared at the ground. "I tried to be for my mate's sake, but once she was gone...I can focus my loyalties fully here now," he said, fixing Scatteredstar with a decisive stare and a half-smile. "That's what FallClan needs right now, right?"
"You're a good cat." She told him. "Thank you for that." She settled down beside him. "There is something else I need to talk to you about." Scatteredstar murmured, lowering her voice. Her golden-amber eyes were serious and grim.
"Oh?" Lemonburst asked, his interest piqued. He wasn't typically a warrior that Clan leaders tended to confide in, much less even talk to, so to hear Scatteredstar's voice lower as she settled down beside him was a mixture of confidence-inspiring and ominous to the tom. "...What would that be?" he asked, hoping he'd be able to help her in some way. "...Wait, I'm not getting kicked out of another Clan after all that, am I?"
"...No," Lemonburst admitted, after a few moments of thinking the leader's question over. "I'm just paranoid. I didn't expect the last leader to kick me out either. Anyway, uh...sorry. Forget I said anything," he murmured.
"But what I wanted to talk to you about..." She lowered her voice again. "-is Eternalstar. She had approached me about an alliance, but before I get in too deep with it, I'd like to know who I'm dealing with. She seemed nice but... I got a bit of an odd feeling." Scatteredstar explained carefully.
Lemonburst nodded slowly, eyes glazing over as he pictured his last meeting with her. "Well, I can only tell you as much as what she was like before she...." He trailed off, frowning. "After my brother - Peachstar, the previous leader - stepped down and left the Clan, it was her who took over instead of my brother's deputy, Cardinalheart. So that alone tells me either my brother put Eternalstar in charged because he trusted her more than his deputy, or it was Eternalstar who convinced Cardinalheart to let her become leader instead. I have no idea which option is the truth," he added, with a hint of regret. "She promised to rebuild SpringClan after our capture at the paws of SunClan, which...should have been a good thing. I was ready to prove myself to my Clan's leader, in a way I couldn't when my brother was in charge. But...she kicked me out before I got the chance, and now I'm here," he muttered, avoiding eye contact. "Her offer of an alliance is...interesting."
Lemonburst's eyes widened. "....No," he finally decided, although he sounded unsure. "I don't...I don't think so. But it wouldn't surprise me if she did, or if she finds out sooner or later."
She took a breath. FallClan needed warriors, but... "You're an amazing warrior, but should you wish to return to SpringClan once the dust settles, I will not hold it against you."
"I..." Lemonburst was about to speak, but instead frowned, and hesitated a few seconds more. His swift dismissal from SpringClan had irritated him, but there really wasn't anything or anyone tying him to SpringClan anymore - not with Foxflight gone and Peachblush running around as a rogue. Could he really go back, knowing how badly that Clan had betrayed him? "Thank you," he said, "but I have to say...I just can't see that happening, currently. I think I was just lying to myself," he admitted, "when I told myself that SpringClan was beginning to feel like home. It never was. Not like here..."
