We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Greetings! This has been a long time in the making, and i am happy to announce that I am opening the tryouts for the position of Black Hand Members.
Thanks to some help from Faith and Lynx, I've been working to revamp the Black Hand to make it more interesting. So first I'll get the information about what the Black Hand will be going forwards, and then move into the tryouts section.
What is the Black Hand?
The Black Hand is a group of five cats. They answer directly to the monarch, and handle any duties that requires something outside the capabilities of the normal warriors of NightClan. Or at least that's what is said to the populace Not only are these cats skilled warriors, they are more... morally dark grey than most of the members of the clan.
They handle any 'dirty' business the monarch might need them to carry out. Be it assassinations, spying, kidnapping, efforts to wreak havoc and destabilize other groups. All while keeping it under wraps from the clan.
Who can be in the Black Hand?
The biggest change to the Black Hand is that going forwards, is that to be a member of the Black Hand you have to be a member of the family. Starting with this new Black Hand most members that come after will have to be blood kin to the current members.
For instance say Eventide, the leader of the Black Hand, when he chose to retire (or died) he could hand off his position to his first born kit. That will be the general policy going forwards is that the members of the Black Hand want to keep it within the family, and they'll typically pick their first born kit as the one who they will groom to succeed them in the Hand. (though it is up to the members discretion who they pick to secure their position after them).
There can be exceptions, particularly for say a former deputy, or kin to the monarch and deputy. However, in general the Black Hand likes to keep it within the family, as breaking this norm can cause tension within the family.
But as this Black Hand will be the new one bringing in this new era of the 'family business of being in the Black Hand' the new members will have to be the siblings of Eventide. Which brings us to the tryout!
What are the requirements for my cat to become a member of the Black Hand?
The only real requirement that must be met for your cat to qualify to become a member of the new Black Hand, is that they must be a sibling of Eventide. That means that their origin and how they came to NightClan must be the same.
They are of kittypet blood. They came NightClan thanks to Eventide taking them there. Eventide found out his parents had more kits. As he had been a member of NightClan for a time, and he'd gone through the pain of being a kittypet and losing his housefolk, he decides to steal his younger siblings, thus securing them a start in NightClan since they were kits.
The rest of the cats backstory, names, personality is up to the discretion of those trying out. But they all must have this same origin.
The Tryout:
To Tryout for the position of Black Hand I need all participants to give me this information:

Type of Mission you'd want the Black Hand to do - (Could be as simple as just 'spying mission, assassination mission' or it can be as detailed as 'I want the Black Hand to kidnap MoonClan cats and interrogate them about some stolen prey' or 'The black hand unearths unrest in SpringClan and attempts to capitalize on it'. Detailed or simpled either is great!)
Possible Plot suggestions - (this is optional, as the type of mission can also be where this is put, or a possible plot could be about the black hand establishing this new rule of keeping the Black Hand within the family)
There those that say if a coyote crosses your path turn your back and do not continue your journey. Such a profound symbol of trickery and an omen of misfortune. But there are also those that consider the tricksters spirit in coyotes something to admire. One can easily assume which category Coyoteway's twoleg fell into. And while he left that life behind the name Coyote was carried with him through the rest of his journey. As is common with the tricksters Coyoteway has grown to become accustomed with he is constantly testing the bounds of possibilities and order. Asking pointed questions and bending rules or ignoring them all together to suit his own needs. Cunning and vain he is not a tom who often puts any faith at all in others, trusting only himself and his siblings to get things done. Even his oldest sibling Eventide does not rate the same rate of respect Coyoteway has towards those born into the same litter as him. This lack of respect truly puts his trickster luck to the test at time but the tom is not easily dissuaded once on a chosen path. He hates simplicity and is often impatient; eager to get things done and often thinking outside the box to think of the quickest way to reach his goals. Scheming is a hobby he is constantly partaking in, though his schemes are often considered cruel and those he focuses on poor unfortunate souls who are doomed to suffer under Coyoteway's attention.
Type of mission(s) & plots - 1 ] So this could sort of work into Springclan's plots I have going on and I'm going to exploit the opportunity. So Eternalstar is cozying up to cats in other clans to make alliances and just in general keep her ear to the ground; her options open. Eternalstar wants and ear in so she approaches one of the members. They decide to play along since it could be beneficial to Nightclan. But soon they realize that Eternalstar is aware they know her goals and the two have just been playing and dancing around each other to try and gain information from the other. So the Black Hand sets up an ambush; deciding that weakening Eternalstar will weaken Springclan. Eternalstar sends her apprentice daughter to the meeting instead. The Black Hand decides to go forward with their ambush anyway hoping to send a message. [maybe one of the members does become conflicted about having hurt the young innocent cat. maybe not who knows. ]
2. ] There are only so many positions in the Black Hand. And more than a few have kits. One of the members ( Coyoteway? he's greedy.) gets greedy to have their kits as the next generation. So they either attempt or successfully poison some of the others kits. The others find out and either kill them or drive them off. Ironically that cats first born becomes inducted into the Black Hand. // a possible expansion on this plot is that the kit actually harbors a grudge against the older members for either killing or driving out their patent and waits for a perfect time to internally sabotage them. Or turns traitor and feeds information to another clan.
3. ] The Black Hand goes out and makes shady deals with some rogue groups essentially like paying them to steal from others clans, and attack their border patrols and stuff like that?
4. ] The black hand blackmails a clan leader? [ needs expansion on that one ]

BRUNIABERRY
Life is such a joke. A fun little melody with a tragic wrap. A Jester with his head rolling away from the chopping block. Born into this world innocent and worthy of love only to make simple mistakes and be judged by the courts for treason. How did she get here? Bruniaberry was once a lavish kittypet with a warm bed and three meals a day. She was never for wanting. Though she had a wild side and her humans were not so happy with her constant clawing as furniture and knocking over priceless art and glass sculptures. The day Evertide came for her and her siblings was the day her life started to fall apart. Before the Blackhand was formed Bruniaberry was an apprentice like all young cats in NightClan. Her ambitions to be the best but her heart too tender to succeed in the career of a warrior. When the clan found themselves without a medicine cat, Bruniaberry jumped at the opportunity. She finally found her place. Or so she thought. StarClan would not recognize the she-cat as NightClan's connection to them. They claimed their was a darkness in her happy heart. A pending storm. A thick shadow looming in the corner. The tan and black Persians was sad and disappointed. But StarClan, having not wanted her, had unknowingly released that shadowy poison in her heart. Bruniaberry began to lean into the embrace of the Black Hand. Death no longer something she winced at. Suddenly nothing was beyond her reach. No cat too good for her to demonize. The herbal knowledge she gained as a short lived medicine cat still fresh in her mind. Poisons a permanent thought. She could wield her own will and none would stop her.
Primordialhaze
MISSIONS
1 - With the two clans becoming reborn Burning could want to assess their power. With that she could send the black hand to temporarily join those clans and get close to cats with information to bring back to burning.
2 - A run away from the newly reformed SpringClan could try to take refuge in Night with news of Eternalstar's supporters and reform. She could send some cats to spy on Eternalstar and assess her plans for her clan. Determine her level of threat.
3 - Leatherstar has been getting comfortable entering clan territories because he wantd to. After burning lost a life to him she could be nervous about his desire to try again. Send a black hand cast whom burnign knowns could escape winter to be captured and watch leatherstar closely.
PLOTS
This is a bit of an extended long term plot but its still a plot :3
The black hand is formed. They, I assume, are trained rigorously and are a bit reclusive. With all their power and abilities they do selective breeding with the best in the clan. Their children becoming black hand and so forth. Eventually lets say a black hand member does something that pisses off burning and she has him or her punished. The black hand get angry and realize together they are strong enough to over power and dethrone burning. They are secretive tho and dont do anything directly at first. They start sewing seeds of doubt towards burning and set little traps in prey and out in the forest to make it look like starclan is warning the clan against burning. Eventually when enough doubt is sewn the black hand speaks out against burning and maybe even succeeds in driving her out. She goes to another clan to seek aid (will offer winter) in taking abck her clan. Returning with an entire clan at her back many cats back down and return to her side while the black hand stand to fight. Until a draw is made or an important black hand member is killed do they finally give in. At that point burning could mor strictly organize the black hand and even place someone she trusts at their head. This could be a plot where she looses a life if you wanted too.
It has been decided that Coyoteway and Bruniaberry will be added to the roster of Black Hand members, and Soaringbird will be added as a temporary member and Springfawn (a former Black Hand member) has been reinstated as the leader of the Black Hand.
