Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The body of the cat sat, facing the border of this strange new place. Her eyes were glassed over, vacant looking. It was easier that way, to eliminate all emotion from them. At least, easier than letting the world understand that she was upset. Even in this strange new state, it was hard for the she-cat to let her emotions play on her face. Perhaps, her defense mechanism was stronger than she expected, strong enough that it was the only thing that stayed with her after her life was lost. The rest, every single memory of hers, had gone up in smoke when the she-cat's head crashed to the earth from such a great height. In a matter of moments, the former Tsar had been reduced to ash.
She didn't know this, though. She didn't know that she was meant to be somewhere else, at least not really. She had no memory of the fall, or anything that came before the fall. The only thing that she could remember was opening her eyes to two orange cats standing over her. The one looked panicked. Kerrigan, he had gasped in relief when her eyes flittered open. Yet, she didn't know who he was. Hell, she didn't even know who she was. Kerrigan? The name sounded familiar, but not familiar enough....
It had been a week since that day. Since, she had learned that the tom had been Lindon, a cat who claimed to be her brother. The other feline was Burningstar, his mate. Her sister-in-law? Lindon had basically been next to her the entire time, especially after he learned that she didn't know who he was. Learning of her memory loss, the tom had become a protective watch dog over her. He accompanied her to every appointment with the medicine cats, made sure she stayed in camp. It was suffocating. He'd finally been convinced to give her a moment to herself, which had led to this.
She stared across the horizon, the dawn flicking through the tree branches. It made her pelt look like a flame, one that, for the first time in moons, was not disturbed by a crown of flowers on her head. Not that she knew that this was strange. She didn't realize that the flower crown was an integral part of her. She knew nothing about herself. Yet, she could tell that something was off. Something wasn't right. This was not her home... She didn't know where she belonged, but this, it felt like this didn't fit...
The more she thought, the less vacant her eyes appeared. Eventually, they were brimming with tears, frustrated tears. Why couldn't she remember?
Her body sprawled across the frosted dew grass in an angelic poise. Her auburn fur was mangled and skin slashed in large gashes. The sickening gurgling sound beside her came from a fox crushed and impaled by a nearby tree. It had chased and caught her and in those precious moments before her blood could bleed free from her and her spirit could sink into the dark a tree just so happened to weaken and plummet on a fox. What were the chances? Death was tired of her stalking him, but he was all she wanted. She dreamed of death, waited for death and he never came, a tragic romance. For a while she had gotten over wanting to be dead. When Deal came along there was a reason to live, but now everything felt exhausting.
She didn't consider herself depressed, it was more like the notion she was so fed up with life she just wanted to die. Except her exaggeration was reality. Everything was so boring and repetitive and predictable. With Deal she never knew what was going to happen. He could do something right or he could do something wrong, he'd date another cat and maybe he'd have another kit maybe not. His life had so many twists and turns, it was lively and new. She could have built an entire life on his smile alone and now he'd never smile at her again. Now she was with her clan that was always peaceful and adoring and a sister who was only fun if she had an equal measure of ambiguous righteousness beside her.
"Ugh. UGH!" She groaned, tilting her head to the side. Her darkened gaze found its way to a petite pair of paws. Her eyes followed the legs up slowly before meeting Kerrigan's eyes, "Aww, hey care bear, wha chu you up to?" her voice was like a soft song ending in a whisper.
