Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ribbondance had been in the middle of an unlucky streak for a couple of weeks now. Prey got away from her at the last second, she was making awkward social faux pas left and right - everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, it seemed to her. Hence, she didn't feel too surprised when she found herself stuck in a tree one otherwise-normal mid-afternoon.
"Uh..." she muttered, squinting down at the ground from her position on a branch that felt much too flimsy for her liking. Had she really come so far up the tree and not notice? "I feel like if I jumped down from here, I'd...die..." she murmured.
The leader stared up at the cat, amusement dancing over her features. “Perhaps you shouldn’t jump then.” Solsticestar called up, her smirk still evident in both voice and features.
Ribbondance cursed under her breath as she spotted Solsticestar down on the ground. Of all the cats to come find me, why the leader...? she thought to herself, putting on a strained smile. "Haha, I g-guess you're right!" she said sheepishly. "...Doesn't make it any less scary, though! Eheh...eh."
Ribbondance eyed the branches below her nervously. "What if they break under my weight...?" she frowned. Or worse, what if I miss the branch entirely? she thought to herself, taking care not to voice that particular concern of hers.
Ribbondance gave Solsticestar once last baleful look, before taking a deep breath and leaping down onto a lower branch. Surprisingly, she felt her paws hit the soft surface of bark and not the ground, and she let out a relieved sigh. "I did one!" she exclaimed, giving the EarthClan leader a cheerful grin and seemingly forgetting about the fact that she was still pretty high up in the air.
"Thanks!" Ribbondance beamed, now perched in a slightly lower branch - a branch that happened to be an even greater distance from the next-lowest branch than the previous one had been. "...Um, you think you can give me another pep talk? Or two? Or two dozen?"
Ribbondance paused. "...Somehow it felt more inspirational when you did it before, but thank you anyway!" she called out, hopping down a few more branches until there was only one more to go.
Ribbondance purred as her paws finally touched solid ground - that is ground that didn't waver ever so slightly in the wound. "Finally," she remarked, gazing back up at the tree that had given her so much trouble. "Thank you for the pep talks, Solsticestar."
