Scatteredstar led the way through a distant forest. Behind her was a line of cats. Some were scattered remnants of FallClan, who had waited long for the territory to be safe once again. Others were kittypets, loners, and rogues who sought a different and better life; one lived in unity with their Clanmates under StarClan's guidance. Pride lightened her paws as she thought of the varied personalities and backgrounds of those who followed her, and the courage and teamwork they'd shown already. Little did any of them know, however, that their greatest challenge was yet to come...

Comferypetal ushered her two remaining kits along with her think pale cream tail. Beside them Cedarcloud walked close by like a looming powerful force ready to jump if anything came close it his kits or mate. He had already failed to protect one. He feared losing either of the other. He looked ahead of his small family at the cat he had pledged his loyalty and the safety of his family too. He had so much hope for Scatteredstar and the path she was leading them on.
Scatteredstar came to a sudden stop, ears twitching. Was that mewling? She looked to Comfreypetal's kits, but they were quiet. It sounded like it was coming from the ravine on the left...
