Looking towards the soft long legged tom it was hard to imagine there might have been a time where he was ever disheveled. But there were also those who knew better. Those who knew of a time when Grendel wasn't the name of a well respected tom but instead the name of a monster. One of them was the reason he was here, why he traveled over oceans. Well part of the reason, Grendel didn't want to give the shec-cat too much credit; she didn't deserve it. The tom slipped quietly through the camp and out into the territory, heading towards the border.

Out in the rogue lands, a lone she-cat hid in the tunnels that stretched throughout SummerClan territory, given the blessing of the Cats of the Storm. Natalia was in less of an ideal situation given the lack of easy-to-find food for a cat who learned how to fish first before anything else, but at least the ginger she-cat was warm and safe... Or so she thought.
She lied sleeping deep in the tunnel, having feasted on a small rabbit the night before. She didn't know where she would find food today, but that didn't matter. So long as everything back over the ocean was behind her, she could do anything...
He was working of conjecture for the most part, knowing she was in the tunnels, having watched her slip in almost a moon ago. He had slipped himself into the ranks of Summerclan only days later if only to have easier access to her. Now, now it was finally starting to pay off towards something. The slim tom paused at a hidden tunnel entrance towards the edge of Summerclan territory, found by some sly questioning and playful 'adventures' with his new 'clanmates'. Slipping in had him feeling immediately claustrophobic, not a tome who enjoyed tight spaces but he was gleefully hoping it would be worth it.
Though he realized a problem in that the tunnels expanded miles and he had no idea where Natalia was in them. Though her scent was no where near this entrance so he knew she probably never went down that way and headed in deeper. Ready to begin searching.

As he went deeper the scent of rabbit permeated the stale air. He picked up her scent not long after that. She'd gotten complacent and sloppy in covering up her scent. This was a mistake she would regret.
Natalia began to awaken not long after Grendel got into the tunnel. She sleepily nudged the rabbit and sniffed it, trying to see if it was still any good a few hours after sleeping. She hadn't finished the whole thing, since she was still too small to do so. She was about 9 moons old, barely older than an apprentice in the Clans. It was hard to believe she had gotten this far.
[ omg. Can Grendel be her dad? Uncle? Older brother from a couple litters before her? ]
Grendel slipped through the tunnels soundlessly, until his pace slowed to a crawl, now able to hear the sounds of her moving around. As he stalked closer his golden eyes, glowing in the dark, became visible if she only were to look over. He waited until he was almost in her shadow before he spoke, not worried about losing the element of surprise. Not when Natalia was still so young, still a small threat. "Well, well dear don't you look pitiful."

(Pick your favorite, we can go with it. Dad sounds most fun.)
Natalia's ears perked and she slowly looked over to where Grendel stood, speechless. She quickly rose to her feet and unsheathed claws. "Y-You... What are you doing here?!" She trembled before the tom absolutely terrified.
Grendel smiled, moving closer, "you're much to young to be alone darling. What kind of father would I be if I let you gallivant off to unknown lands with no supervision." He purred, low and dangerous. Tone betraying the true intent behind his seemingly caring words; showing his interest in scaring her more than helping her. Though if one knew their past they would know Grendel had not come to support his runaway child in any way.

"Get away from me! Don't fox dung with me with all that talk!" She stepped back, betraying her fear. "Y-You're here to kill me, aren't you, you monster?!"
Natalia was filled with fear at the sight of her own Father. She knew what he was capable of, she remembered what he put her through. She could never forget... The scars on her body wouldn't let her.
"Killing you seems counterproductive." Grendel hummed as he lightly moved forward to counter her step back, slowly starting to circle her. "If I wanted to kill you I could have waited until later and slit your throat while you slept." The wicked grin his gave would send shivers down anyone's spine, haunt their nightmares. "Besides, were would my entertainment come from with you dead?"

Natalia trembled from both his grin and his words. She kept an eye on his position and kept her claws unsheathed. She had to be ready for the worst.
"So why are you here then? I can't be entertaining enough to leave everything behind, can I?" Natalia tried to sound as tough as she could, even adding, "Or did the others kick you out because I got away?"
"They would never silly goose." Grendel laughed, "no one cared that you left, there was a moment of disappoint and then we easily moved on with our lives." He paused and let out a considering hum. "You are right though, I didn't leave everything behind because of you. I had been considering a change of scenery for awhile." He wondered if he should share that he had gone on a bit of a massacre before he left but thought that would be a fun little tidbit to reveal later.

"Change of scenery? You sure you didn't just drown too many cats and dogs and the twolegs were catching on?" She scoffed. "Save the nobody caring I left, I don't believe a word you just said. Try again some other time. And while you're at it, leave me alone!"
His paw slapped out quicker than one's brain could register the movement. A vicious snarl contorting his features as his claws raked across her own. "Remember who you're talking to little wanderer. Lest I forget to push down my desire to crush your fragile neck in my jaws and watch you slowly suffocate under my mercy."

She yowled and jumped back, startled and now hurt. Natalia glared forward at him, still attempting to be defiant but her morale slowly fading. She said nothing now.
"Tell me child. What exactly are your plans? You look half starved? Have you come to these tunnels to save others from the trouble of dealing with your corpse?" He asked cruelly further picking at any possible vulnerabilities.

"I'm fine... I'm just..." She was getting stressed out the longer he stayed. "I don't like other cats, so I'm staying here. It's easier to live out of the way..."
Grendel chuffed a harsh laugh, "easier for you emotionally maybe, or mentally, but physically... well you seem pathetic." He surveyed the dingy surroundings and then looked back at her with scorn. "I know! You should join Summerclan, we could be one big happy family again. Wouldn't that be nice!" His smile had too much teeth and his eyes were vicious.
Big happy family... What was this fox dung? Natalia held her tongue though. Based on this look, it didn't seem like she had much of a choice in the situation. She looked curious as to what was in this for Grendel. Joining SummerClan would make it harder for Grendel to abuse her openly. So why would he have her join?
"Just think! You might find a nice young tom to finally settle down with and then you can have kits and your own family. I would have to bring the kits back to meet the relatives of-course but that wouldn't be too much of a problem would it?" He laughed, the sound slithering like a snake along ones pelt.
Natalia glared. "Is this your idea of a joke? A mate and kits? I think I would RATHER you kill me." Natalia didn't want a mate, and she didn't want kits. She just wanted her freedom above all else.
