His whiskers twitched in amusement as Hawthornpaw spotted his sister, Hemlockkit, across the clearing. They were the same age, yet he had already gone through his apprentice ceremony and a bit of training. It made him feel lonely at times, but he always knew he had his sister to play with. In fact, he had something very special planned for her that day. He let out a little call of greeting to grab her attention and began to trot forward, bushy tail swinging to and fro as he moved.

"Hawthornpaw!" Hemlockkit's bright cry filled the space between them as she huddled towards her brother. Before she could reach him, however, her tail somehow got caught between her hindpaws and tripped her up, sending her sailing directly into her brother's chest. Her nose smarted where it had connected with his chestbone, and tears pricked at her eyes involuntarily. "Owwie," she murmured, gathering herself up from the ground in embarrassment. "Sorry," she mewed, not letting it get her down too much. She knew she was a klutz but sometimes wished she could move with her brother's grace.
