Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He lead her to the training hollow and then turned to face her. "Okay, first, we are going to learn the Front Paw Blow. This is the simplest battle technique but is also a good warm up. The name is pretty self explanatory. You bring your paw down hard on your opponents head with unsheathed claws." He instructed, giving a demonstration in the air. "You can try it on me. But make sure your claws are sheathed!" He added with an amused twitch of his whiskers.
Briarpaw was still mildly annoyed at the deputy for still trying to teach her. When he told her to practice on him, she reluctantly did so. Even she could tell she wasn't trying as hard as she could when she essentially 'booped' him on his head as her first 'try'.
Larkwing frowned again and this time his frustration was getting the best of him. "Briarpaw, your not even trying. Do you want to remain an apprentice your whole life?"
"Briarpaw." The silver tabby tom intercepted her. "If you don't cooperate, you will never become a warrior. I am trying to help you." His voice was calmer now, more sensitive and back to his usual gentle nature. His sky blue eyes searched hers for some kind of realization or understanding.
She snorted at the deputy. "I've been an apprentice for moons and nobody bothered to teach me anything. Just because you haven't given up doesn't mean others haven't." herself included.
He was taken by surprise at the she-cats statement. What she said was a deep truth and it settled deep within him. There were things that bothered him. Such as what Burningstar would think if he couldnt train Briarpaw or what his clanmates thought about how he was doing as a deputy. He searched for a reply for a moment too long. He finally answered, "then show them. Show them you can be a warrior and the best one yet."
When he didn't imediantly respond, Briarpaw had started to turn and walk away but his words stopped her before she could get two steps away. She glanced back at him, "Why? They won't see anything other than what they want."
"Perhaps. I am not promising that they will all see what you have become but I do know some will. Including me." He held her gaze. He believed in her like no one else did. Burningstar had asked him which apprentice he wanted to train and he had agreed to take on Briarpaw. He saw potential in her even if some didn't. He wanted to help her which is why he had chosen her. Most warriors would have given up on her but that was not an option for him. He would do whatever it took to help her recieve her warrior name.
The apprentice frowned at his words, thinking them over for a few more seconds before turning back towards the deputy and walking back towards him. "I'll try." she replied.
