Maplekit flicked her tail in frustration. She had watched her father promote Ancientkit to a novice and leave herself and Frostykit in the nursery. Ancientpaw, now, returned to camp every evening to gloat about his new found freedoms and abilities. The small brown and amber she-cat slapped her tail on the ground of the nursery in frustration.
"It's not fair!" Frostykit meowed, plopping herself down heavily next to Maplekit. She'd watched their brother leave camp this morning with his mentor, going off to practice hunting and fighting. It was every kits dream to finally be able to learn how to become a warrior and Frostykit felt robbed of that at the moment.

"Its not fair at all!" Agreedd Maplekit. "Plus Leatherstar chose to train him himself!" she wrinkled her nose against the reality that perhaps their father favored their older brother. "It's not like he's that much bigger than us." she complained.
"When we are finally apprenticed we will have to train harder and become better than Aconitepaw!" Frostykit announced. "We will be the best WinterClan warriors ever! and then Leatherstar will have to pay more attention to us!"
