Guavapaw yawned a wide yawn that made her eyes squint as she drug her cold tired frame from the novice den. She had taken a nap after her training and was rethinking it too late. All she wanted to do was curl back up under the snow and hide away. But in reality she had chores and tasks to do. She yawned once more before rubbing a paw over her black blushed cheek and turning to head for the nursery to do some patches.
Torrentpaw padded back into camp with only a crow and a vole. He was mentally beating himself up for this hunt, usually he brought back more prey, although his mentor was happy with how the hunt went. Torrentpaw had to hold his tongue and fight the urge to tell his mentor that if they considered only four pieces of prey on a two cat hunting patrol a successful hunt then they should raise their standards; but he also didn't feel like cleaning out the elders den by himself for the next moon so he wisely kept his mouth shut. He deposited his catches onto the prey pile and scanned the camp. Torrentpaw saw Guavapaw over patching the nursery and decided to join her, at least he'd be doing something useful. "How was your training this morning?" he asked her. He wasn't good at conversation but he had a soft spot for Guavapaw even though he refused to admit it so he made an effort to talk to her.

Guavapaw's while demeanor seamed to brighten as Torrentpaw joined her at the nursery. She finished weaving a frond into the wall and turned her full attention to Torrentpaw. "It was good! I was even able to take a quick nap! Though I am starting to think that was a bad idea. Now I just want to sleep for forever." she admitted. "I saw your catch of the day! Good job! Its so hard to catch prey in the snow." she frowned at that last part. How true it seemed to be.
"Thank you." He replied. The thought that maybe he did have at least a decent hunt crossed his mind but he quickly pushed it out, deciding to do better next time even if he had to stay out all night. "I hate that feeling, being almost too tired to function." he agreed, weaving a bramble through some vines, but then again the reason he was usually so grumpy was because he was literally tired all the time. "I understand the importance of learning to weave a den and help the elders but I cannot wait to not have to do this anymore. Be able to come back from hunting and patrolling and just sleep." he added. He knew that probably sounded selfish but in the end who really enjoyed doing either of those tasks?

"Well, I think we will likely have to do this as Thanes too. We wont always have enough novices to do all the grunt work." she purred "But a good sleep is always nice." She weaved a few more fronds into the den before stopping. "Are you thinking youll want to go back out for anther hunt today?"
Torrentpaw glanced at Guavapaw as he continued to weave and patch the den. "I was thinking of going later on and hunting near the border." he replied after a few seconds. "I haven't been over there in a few days."
