Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
As they finally came to the moon pool, starlit lit the area. Meadoweyes breathed in deeply, closed her eyes for a moment and enjoyed the serenity that was here. Then she turned to look at Adderstar,"You'll touch your nose to the pool, and you'll fall asleep. There, StarClan will greet you." Her violet eyes seemed to reflect the starlight, but something about this place definitely made Meadoweyes... at peace.
She gave a kind smile, and motioned forward with a flick of her tail. "I'll be there with you." She promised.
It had taken a long time to get Adderstar to come here, and even now her ears twitched back, distracted by thoughts of the home they had left behind. Their apprentices were growing into young warriors now, but were they safe to be left alone? Could they defend themselves if a fox stumbled upon them? A pack of wolves? She gazed down at the glittering pool and thought of floods sweeping away her new home. The water did nothing to impress her, and she was impatient to be done.
She gazed at Meadoweyes, her expression unreadable, then bowed her head. "I'll see you on the other side."
She laid down by the waters and touched her nose to the pool. Darkness fell over her.
It was not long before the medicine cat had done the same.
Before her spanned stars upon stars, and a beautiful light. She looked around, but did not see Adderstar.
Confused, she turned to the one starry cat before her. "Where is she?" Her face twisted, but it was almost as if she knew right away. Something was not right.
Silver and white stars spun like snowflakes in a flurry, drifting lazily through the fluffy blue fur of the small she-cat before Meadoweyes. She looked young and alert, and the sadness looked strange upon her face, like she had never tried frowning before. Meadoweyes was too small to have known her, but she would recognize Coralreef's eyes -- the same pale green as her father's eye.
"Oh, she's alright," Coralreef promised, her frown curling up into a faint, delighted smile. "She's having a very nice dream right now! I think it's about swimming, a nice long swim with her family. Isn't that nice?" She tilted her head a little. "She won't be joining us today."
Meadoweyes furrowed her brows. There should have been at least nine other cats here to greet her... and Adderstar. So where were they all? She looked around, searching for them... until it hit her.
Meadoweyes closed her violet eyes and put her head down shaking it slightly. "I think I knew that this would happen." She admitted, her voice cracking. It took her a moment before she would meet the starry cat's gaze. "I let her lead the clan, and I knew that she was not the right cat. What have I done?" The heavy weight of failure hit the medicine cat rather hard and her tail drooped to the ground, shoulders slumping. Meadoweyes shook her head, almost in disbelief. "I have failed my clan."
