Hey y'all! Sorry for being a bit MIA ahah school and life has been super busy for me the past few months, but we're having a bunch of tryouts again! Thank you so much to wrenpansy for being a fab shaman and to Shadowblade and woof for their fab proxy and assassin respectively, but we'll have a few spaces open for everyone around ♥
This all means we have a few potential RP positions open! Currently, they are: shaman, assassin, assassin successor

why do you want this position? for me, as her rper, i think it’ll just be such a wonderful change. even before i heard about the tryouts i’d been feeling that she was starting to stagnate in her position — i LOVE her being proxy, i think it’s such an iconic position for her, but counting my last time on the site she’s been a proxy for almost two years (most of HER life), i also feel like we’re both so ready for something a bit different. for her, i can absolutely imagine the position has begun to hold a faint, guilty sort of draw or fascination for her over the past few months. she’s been so lost and drifting after losing her son and now her daughters, and i can imagine her position as proxy has started to hold a good deal of residual pain — there’s so much attached to it. shaman — especially because it was the position she first met funk in, and they spent so much time in that den together — would come to be a sort of idealised vision in her mind, offering change and a fresh start and literal healing for her (because she’s always been so susceptible to metaphor and manipulation and romanticisation of things that are Softer than what she has). i can definitely imagine her bothering ber day in, day out, until he gives it to her the second she hears it’s on the market (complete with full guilt-tripping, 🥺-eyed pitch about how she Needs this and please don’t turn me away, ber), or him offering it to her and her going WOW WHAT A GREAT IDEA FUNNILY ENOUGH I ALREADY HAVE MY BAGS PACKED FOR JUSY THIS OCCASION. (plus, i just love the idea of shaman and nemesis having their own little blood empire <3) also, the timing has just worked out like fate with me stepping down from dayclan mc and this position opening up <3 (also, she and eris have this kinda unintentional parallel going on and her becoming like the Good doctor to eris’ Bad as the wives of two enemies would be just so good)
what kind of development do you want for your character? right now, in the immediate future, disregarding cross-clan plots, just healing for her. of course she’ll be torn back down, but just having her be able to have this little sanctuary she can potter around in and make things accidentally explode and learn from… like, i always write her as a housewife who’s most fulfilled by having a family, and continuing that metaphor this would be like a housewife discovering a hobby for the first time and leaving the house daily to go and pursue it, shyly and self-consciously at first but then with growing enthusiasm and life and tentative confidence, until she’s up before dawn and just giving her husband a hurried kiss on the cheek when he’s still in bed to rush out and get back to her work with a stupid smile on her face. especially now that she’s pregnant again it’d be so cute, her discovering a hobby when she already has two litters. soft late-to-blossom girl.i think it could be SUCH an important part of her four year journey <3
how do you think they'l get along with bermondsey & elizabeth?
ber - oh she can’t stand him. jk, i could get sappy but at its foundations i just think a lot of compelling stuff could happen with the nemesis and shaman being so intimate. like esh transitioning from sort of war leader, all violence and strategy and advising ber on matters of battle, to advising him in a very different way. i think it could also be cool because she wouldn’t totally let go of her old proxy role, so she’d still be advising him in those two different ways and be a very aggressive, straight forward shaman at his shoulder during cabinet meetings. just A LOT of stuff i’d be really really excited about. plus, i’m just such a sucker for medicine cat/leader
elizabeth - she’s always felt a bit threatened by lizzie; she’s always had an important, sort of private role in ber’s life that esh doesn’t get to see into, first as his assassin and then as his warden, and that’s created natural jealousy. i can’t see that going away any time soon, but i think it could actually be really nice if they one day have a moment of honest connection where esh can see there isn’t something to be threatened by in that way and elizabeth is a vital and wonderfully dangerous card to have up the league’s sleeve. maybe they get stranded together and only have each other to survive with and talk to and it can be a good arc from “don’t talk to me, don’t walk within 10 feet of me, let’s just get out of here” to connection between a psycho- and sociopath <3
ALSO, plots with everyone else!!!!!! i love pi!!!!!
character name + short description of them: valaravan + an off white and black patterned tom with lace-ish markings along his body and a black mask along his eyes within his fur whose splattered pattern is reminiscent of a crow’s extended wings mid-flight. he is bold but subject to temptation via anything that looks remotely appealing and shiny, yet all the same boasts a rigid and unrelenting persona. Valaravan is strong willed and won’t back down unless he sees quite plainly that the cards are stacked against him, and either because of his stubbornness or the cause of his stubbornness, there is nothing he loves more than power, authority, and leadership.
why do you want this position? i think it could be fun, pi was the whole reason i came back so i’d be hella hype if i got a position here again
what kind of development do you want for your character? he kind of has a bit of a god complex, doesn’t he? part of me wants to see him knocked down a peg, but the other part of me wants to see just what happens when his ego’s inflated to the max
how do you think they'll get along with bermondsey & elizabeth? he may get along with bermondsey just because they’re both very analytical and compartmentalize? that’s something he likes to do to eradicate any chance of sentimentality getting in the way of what he wants, but he would also want to get close to him simply because of his bloodline. elizabeth, on the other hand, he could probably get under her skin and would enjoy it. she’s just his type, he’d probably love to hate her and hate to love her and would revel in causing her the same affliction.
