Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
A new territory was a massive shift and it changed the entire game. No cat knew where they were headed before they arrived. No cat knew what their plans were for this new land. No cat could have beat them here. Any and all spies planted within the clan were gone now, left behind in their own lands. Every clan would be scrambling now to get their new informants into SunClan.
The gangly dark gray tabby sat on the rip of the hole above the camp, staring intently into the tree encroaching on their camp. Not a bad place to hide a spy. Not a bad perch at all. Smokespiral leaned forward as he spotted a flicker of movement, and growled, "I see a spy."
Balloonpaw could fake the innocence of a lost kittypet if he tried hard enough. That day while the sun was up and majority of his clan was sleeping. The young apprentice thought about seeing where their old neighbors had gone. Or if they were even still alive after the Sun God tried to burn them to a crisp. Was his reasoning for going to find Sunclan for Nightclan’s benefit? Maybe. Was it for his own youthful curiosity? Most definitely.
He rolled in a patch of strong smelling pine needles to cover his scent. With a little tracking and some good patience he picked up on the trial of the Sunclan cats. Not realizing he had completely stumbled into their territory or even close to their camp. I see a spy! the voice startled him a bit but he regarded his composure and looked for the owner of the voice. “What little old me?” He asked faking a friendly smile.
Smokespiral stiffened as the bird talked back to him, and his lips curled back in a snarl - angry, but triumphant too, because here was direct evidence of a spy, and here was evidence he has been right all along. He leaned forward to examine the bird closer, staring into those dark eyes, every inch of him intimidating, yet the prey did not even blink.
He growled lowly, but the leap was too far; he wouldn't make it. Or could he? His gaze flashed lower. There was a branch below the bird, but on the same tree, he might land on. And below that branch was a cat, smiling right up at him. A quick sniff confirmed it was a NightClan cat.
The spy's handler, maybe?
He flattened himself to the ground, skittered to the way down from his watch, gathered strength in his hindquarters, and launched himself down the path. A few swift jumps and he hit the ground and raced toward the apprentice.
Balloonpaw watched as the older sunclan tom stared straight at him and the bird located on the branch above him. He braced himself for impact when he saw the other cat barreling toward him. Call off your spy! caused Balloonpaw’s thoughts to stop straight in their tracks. Wait… my spy? The tom didn’t think he was the spy? The apprentice looked up at the bird. Was he calling the bird a spy? Balloonpaw knew one things that the Sunclan warrior was a few morals short of a fresh kill pile and was now convinced the Sun God had replaced Sunclan cats brains with bees.
Smokespiral halted an inch away from the enemy apprentice, looming over him with his back straight as an oak, short fur bristling between his shoulders, mouth a hard, thin line.
"You have one," he pushed his head forward, centimeters away from Balloonpaw's face, "one chance to tell me exactly what you know and where your orders are coming from."
