Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fantasticalpaw let out a purr as she padded up to her mentor. Her lips twitched in a soft smile, the kind that made other's find her endearing. It was a sweet smile, one that fit perfectly on her face. Most of the time it sat there; there were few moments that the young cat truly looked unhappy. "Howdy, Silverflame," she meowed cheerfully, her tail waving in the air. She was probably about a quarter of the size of her mentor. She had been the runt of her litter, and never quite grew out of the kitten-phase. "What are we up to today?"

Silverflame huffed at the young apprentice. "You're late. We were supposed to meet at sunhigh." He closed his eyes and took a breath. "See to it next time you stick to our meeting times." "What are we up to today?" the young she-cat asked. "We might as well work on our fighting skills. With the borders nowadays, the rogues, and the badger the other day, we might as well make sure your sharp as a claw." He looked around the patch of clearing and moved away any stray rocks. "Alright, what I want you to do is to come at me any way you can, Fantasticalpaw." He fluffed up his gray fur to look bigger and more menacing.
"No need to be so salty, Silverflame. I got caught up in camp." She offered him her most innocent smile. It was only a half-lie. She had been playing with her half-siblings for just a hair too long to have made it on time. Something, though, told her that he wouldn't have been too impressed with this excuse, so she just didn't give it.
She then blinked, letting a moment pass after he said they would fight. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she thought; what would be the best way to come after him? He was larger than her, so she would have no brute force to allow her to win in a fight. After a moment, she blinked.
Her body went straight for his legs. She knew that if she could just get one of them knocked from under him...

Silverflame was that her eyes were headed straight for his legs. Good strategy but not quite enough. He easily jumped up into the air, high enough to where she would skid right under him. After doing so, he would land square on top of her and press her into the ground immobilizing her.
"Don't let your eyes betray your next step. Look straight ahead into theirs. They may give away what their about to do next." He chided.
(Was that godmoddy? I hope it wasn't, I'll change it if so.)
(no, no ! i pretty much intended on her getting stopped. what fun would training be if she was a pro right off the bat (: )
Fantasticalpaw winced slightly at the sudden weight of the tom against her body. Nope, she did not like that. He was easily two times her weight, and honestly, it felt a little bit suffocating to be pinned down that way. Trying to squirm seemed to prove ineffective, too. She let out a mrrow if displeasure, before speaking.
"Okay, okay. I get it. Look um in the face. Can ya get off of me?" she asked, trying once more to shake him off of her.

He stood up and stepped aside and let her shake off the small defeat. He thought about what he had learned as an apprentice many moons ago. "Here." Silverflame instructed. "What I want you to do is to come at me again. This time look me in the eyes."
He widened his stance a little.
"I am a big cat, while you are much much smaller. Right before you crash into me, duck you head and going under my chest. As you're going, lift your body up and see to it that my front leg is in the air. This will lift me up, and cause me to be unbalanced. From there, you could do a nice power hind kick after you slightly knock me over."
He showed how off balanced he could be by lifting one paw and leaning all the way over to his left. "Now, I want you to see if it works. Go ahead."
