Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Cadet Philomena Alexandra was certainly something. Not necessarily a good thing; the firecracker caused more trouble than anything else, but hey, things were never not exciting when things were around, right? Today was no different. The halls of this certain tunnel were silent all morning, until a distant shaking seemed to be felt in the pebbles on the ground. Then suddenly, a grey shape dashed through, the skinny she-cat's voice was riot with laughter.
"Get out of the way!" she shrieked wildly, as a dustcloud filled the air. Behind her shoulder, the tunnel was...collapsing?

There were few tunnels that survived the first collapse, one of which Cadet Sunky Exe found himself traversing. He held a squirrel in his mouth, the intoxicating smell of blood filling his nose as he took this shortcut to camp. But he held back from clamping down, having to satiate himself with the metallic taste of blood running down his throat. It was for his friends, and it was that thought that kept him moving forward.
The rumbling caused him to stop however. He cocked his head to the side, listening. He could barely make out the faint figure of Philomena before she was right on top of him. "Whhhh?" was all he could get out before he put two and two together and ran after her. Though he was not in fast. Sunky is usually never in a rush so this was pretty new.

A screech of laughter left her mouth as she dashed forward, turning back to stare at the other cadet. Oh, what was his name again? "Stunky? That's your name right? Or was it Stinky?" she shouted above the noise, "oh my god it's an actual landslide! Aulora's going to kill me!" She was still cackling, unaware of the mess this was all going to create. "Hurry up, slowpoke!" she shouted as she darted to another tunnel on her left, "or you're gonna get buried alive!"

The tunnels gave few offshoots, forcing Sunky to follow Mina. Though he stayed a few cat lengths behind her, the sound of the oncoming landslide did force him forward. Unconsciously, he bit down harder on the squirrel.
"SEU-NKY!!! Ull bhe eh-ucky f t's gjoust O Lora." The Sunky translation reads as "Sunky!!! You'll be lucky if it's just Aulora", with bonus squirrel. Not that this cadet seemed to care about it. He would hate to hear what Jagger would say. He should have sped up, and he did. About like 0.1 miles per hour. Some things were impossible; forcing two magnets together, eating pizza without pineapple on it, and Cadet Sunky rushing.

A laugh left Mina's mouth. "You talk funny!" she piped up, seemingly delighted, as the landslide began to slow, her paws still racing forward as she stared at the cat, "you know, I'm pretty sure you can get lessons from one of the other cats about how to talk without an accent, something about using proper diction. My papa said that once but I wasn't listening."
She shrugged, as she continued forward, a grin on her face as they neared a tunnel she hadn't been to before. Huh, how interesting. "Right!" she screeched as she made the turn, the rumbling stones and sliding sands almost catching up to the two of them.

Sunky's ears flattened against his skull, more at the loud crumbling of the tunnels around them then her comment. She must have not seen the squirrel in his mouth, though would she really assume someone talked like this normally? The world is stranger than he thought.
He slid after her, though still somewhat behind. The rocks nipped at his heels. Just when would this end?

As the tunnel collapsed, it seemed as if the two of them finally made their way to a side-tunnel, out of harm's way. "Well that went pretty well, we're both alive and..." she nodded in affirmation, before staring at the collapsed tunnel, "cool cool cool...so Stinky, shall we continue down this tunnel?"
It was dark, a rather intimidating-looking tunnel actually. It didn't seem like a great idea at all.
