Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
achromatic Cosmicpaw & Puzzlemaker. They will be going to moon creek for Puzzlemaker to scout the journey.
"This is a privilege many will not earn in their time Cosmicpaw." Puzzlemaker spoke, standing in the courtyard and looking down towards dark pelted student, the milky film over his eyes ever apparent with the light of the moon reflecting the dark firs and pines in his gaze. He bit back a grimace at the reminder of the others plight and then held back a heavy sigh that wished to escape him. As time went on Puzzlemaker knew he might face challenges on why Cosmicpaw was not among the councils number with such an apparent disability.
And no matter how much sympathy he held towards the student, no matter how much kindness he wished to grant him, there might be a time their concerns were proven right and he would be faced with no choice but to reclass the other. So far he had escaped closer scrutiny simply in the fact that those around him were also young, did not yet understand that Cosmicpaw would have a stark disadvantage in any fight, in any hunt. How was he meant to serve as a proper Hunter of moonclan with a Waxing lunar alignment with such obvious problems with his sight?
But in truth the young dreamer reminded Puzzlemaker slightly of himself. Dreaming of worlds beyond his knowledge, things just out of his reach; eager to know more, to explore more, to dream bigger and bigger. It made him soft and sometimes he cursed himself for it, but just as quickly he let himself yearn for those simpler days. He didn't want to trap Cosmicpaw into a sedentary lifestyle, did not want to force the idealist to face a reality of politicking and cutthroat manipulations the council would expose him to. No, for as long as he could he would grant Cosmicpaw this freedom to venture.
It was why he had chosen this student to go to Moon Creek with him. "Many will never leave the territory you must understand, it is too dangerous with the way the other clans are. But today you and I will not only venture out of our territory but quite a good distance away from it." He smiled and waved his tail behind him, "so you must trust my words and do your best to learn and be as attentive as possible for this opportunity."

Cosmicpaw would never admit it out loud, but he was intimidated by the commissioner. He had never been great with characters in power, not when he was growing up and certainly not now when he was in a group of cats he wasn't familiar with. He knew there were others who felt like he shouldn't have been made a hunter. He knew that while others could see much farther than he could, he had been limited. Others would claim that his eyes looked weird, how everyone else's pupils were jet black while his were faintly grey. He was different.
Yet, a cat never truly relied on its sight. His sister had said it once too, that the true mark of a good hunter is how he feels for the earth, how he hears, and smells, rather than what he sees. With that determination, he wasn't going to give up without a fight. To Puzzlemaker, it might be a chance to see whether he was up for the challenge, but for Cosmicpaw, it was a chance to prove he was right. He could do it. He wasn't going to let anyone else's polite concerns and disdainful glances stop him from becoming who he wanted to be.
He nodded seriously at the tom's words. "Of course," he dipped his head in respect, "I'll do my utmost best to protect you, Puzzlemaker." There was a determination and a reverence in the young tom's voice, his eyes gleaming brightly as he looked up to the older cat. He didn't know where the Moon Creek was, he had only ever been to the border and the city really, but wherever it was, he'd make sure to memorize everything he could while he was able. "How will we know where the Moon Creek is?"
