vexing_ode Feralpaw & Puzzlemaker. They will be going to Sunclan territory to see if any of the clan has been back.
His steps echoed along the estates halls and his perked his ears forward for the whispers of voices. The sun was just setting though, it was early yet for the Moonclan cats to be stirring. It was a little daunting the silence that haunted the halls, eerie and unsettling as the shadows that darted among the grounds. There were stories of the dead from the culling haunting the grounds but Puzzlemaker was well aware it was simply bad memories. It was the unease of new ground being broken, the fright of the heavy deaths that hung just behind them on the road of life.
His blue eyes swept the cracked open doors and dashed away just as quickly when no movement became apparent. He had told young Feralpaw the other night that they would be going on a journey today. There should be no need for him to fetch the brown and white tabby tom. As he left the estate through the front doors and faced the looming thick trees before him his lips twisted in thought.
Feralpaw was a special case of his, a tom that most believed should have been delegated to the council with his disability. And in truth Puzzlemaker was still unsure of his choice. Perhaps it was misplaced guilt that kept the student out of the council. After all it was his own niece that had caused the injury and lead the infection that the other lost the eye to. Wickedpaw had so much of his sister in her, he perhaps should have predicted his violent actions.
Nonetheless he would let today be a test towards his decision to let Feralpaw continue his training towards becoming a Hunter. The setting sun was already hidden behind the thick trees and the shadows licked at his paws as he sat at the foot of the steps to await the other.
Feralpaw lay quietly in his nest his nose twitching as he dreamed, when suddenly, the young tom bolted his head up. "OH Right!" he mewed exasperated, he remembered suddenly, that Puzzlemaker had asked him to go to the Sunclan border with him. Bolting to his paws and giving his pelt a good shake he trotted out of the room and through the estate.
He hesitated as he padded past the cathedral, remembering he needed to see Twilightpromise for more herbs for his eye. "She can't be to mad at me if I tell her Puzzelemaker needed me." he mumbled to himself vowing he would go strait to her after the trip. He Feralpaw continued on through the estate spotting the Minister sitting on the steps. "I'm here!" He mewed, glancing at the setting sun, hoping he hadn't made him wait to long. Giving Puzzlemaker a respectful nod he mewed "I am ready!" though he clearly had just woken up.
Puzzlemaker watched the young cat run up to him and his expression barely shifted before, as Feralpaw got closer, he let a smile twitch across his lips. "Good morning Feralpaw, I can see you're here." The teasing was light and all the levity he allowed before he nodded in affirmation and pushed to his feet.
"Well then I suppose it's best we get going, come along." He urged before hurrying off once more without a single pause. There was a lot he wanted to accomplish with the student as this would be one of their only meetings. "I thought you could accompany me to Sunclan, it ill be a good opportunity for you."

Feralpaw nodded as he trotted after. The lack of sight on one side was daunting, but the student padded on head held high, doing his best to look confident. Ever since the accident happened he trained by himself trying to find moves that would work with his missing eye, but he could never truly be sure until he had to use them.
The scent of prey hung in the night air, making his mouth water, but he pressed on ignoring the emptiness of his stomach. "So, what will we be doing in sun clan?" He hesitated to asked but he was as curious as ever.
