Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"There is no easy way from the earth to the stars” @starkravingmad for Brokenpaw and Puzzlemaker the tryout thread!
There was a room hidden away, with wide almost floor to ceiling windows and arching in a circle along the far wall, an expanse of open space welcoming those who wandering into its embrace; the sea foam colored walls immediately setting others at ease. It was the only room many who were not among the upper echelon of Moonclan would ever see of the third floor. It was where Puzzlemaker invited those who would not normally be permitted into the prestigious space. They would have to walk down the dark hallway to the archway to enter, would wander past rooms with closed doors where there could peek into what laid beyond the doors only through small holes just enough for the cats that called the third floor home to squeeze through.
The siamese tom sat there, in what, during it's prime, was probably a show stopper room and awaited the student. The student that showed promise, promise towards a future outside the typical. Her bloodline wasn't what he would have wanted but her personality, her personality was ripe for the picking. Prime to be molded into a perfect model of devotion for the clan, the sort of meek example that would serve them well in the coming future. But she was not his only choice and he needed to determine if her history would lead her to foolishness.
Brokenpaw did her best not to look around as she was guided there. The very nature of this visit, though invited felt forbidden to her, as if she shouldn't of been allowed in here under any circumstances. The fact that she had been meant something huge, and the notion was not lost on her. She wasn't about to slander this opportunity by being over zealous as a young cat in her position might be. Just because she wasn't avidly looking around did not mean she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. Sure, to someone this room was a grand show stopper somewhere, and who or whatever lived here before was surely proud of their choice. However, the calico only saw it as an eye sore, which made it easier to keep her eyes from wandering and stop herself from gawking at the room. Of course, she would never voice her distaste of the color, it wasn't her room, nor was it her place to remark on such matters.
The silence between weighed heavy in the air making the student nervous as time ticked on by. It was quiet enough that she could hear her own heart beating in her chest as she waited for the minister to speak. The silence made her uncomfortable, yet she she found herself un willing to break it. Puzzlemaker had brought her here. He would tell her why when he was ready. As the moments passed her mind did wander. Wondering exactly what she did to be summoned here with her leader in private. Though if she had to guess she was willing to bet that Orrerypaw had something to do with it.
"Brokenpaw." The Minister intoned as he turned to her address her, tone serene and features soft. A proud figure looking towards the future in this young cat, or so he wanted to portray. He took her in and wondered, briefly if it wouldn't be smart to keep her waiting in silence a while longer. He hadn't planned on it truly, in fact he had simply been distracted by his own thoughts but now he considered that it might help him on his own end. His own restlessness meant that such a petty little test never came into fruition, he spent enough time sequestered away on this lonely third floor to willingly indulge in silence with company around.
"Things have been difficult lately, haven't they?" He questions, honestly curious on her answer. The Intern was likely a cat that would be serving Moonclan long after he was gone if things continued in brighter directions, it was a cat that he would have to trust with the future of this clan he now called his own. Her opinions and her thoughts on it's current state would be invaluable in laying judgment on her. Something of a tricky question that he felt no shame in addressing to the young thing.
“Difficult?” She echoed in question. She didn’t intend to sound confused by the minister’s words but she was. Wracking her brain trying to remember any signs of hardships or struggles in the clan recently. In truth she couldn’t remember seeing any. Things had been different for sure. The culling had effected everyone differently but those who remained were all adjusting in there own way. Even her as strange as it was to constantly feel like she was being watched snd weighed down by an invisible force. Though if this was her penance she would gladly accepted it over the culling.
“I would say they’ve been an adjustment but everyone in MoonClan is thriving from what I’ve noticed.” She spoke confidently, for the first tome finding it easy to look the other cat on the eye as she did so. Though of course once she realized that she sounded too sure of her self, she felt her fur begin to fluff up snd her skin burned beneath her pelt.
“O-of course there’s always room for improvement.”
"No, no please speak your mind," he was quick to reassure her as she was visibly daunted by her own words. In truth it was interesting to know that she didn't see any issues with this new Moonclan when he knew if she was a little older she would likely find the changes as difficult as he had been alluding to.
Though he supposed this was a good sign, both for her future as the Intern but also for the future of the other young cats in Moonclan. "I am comforted by the knowledge that perhaps I have been seeing problems as bigger than they are. Such is the burden of the Minister."
"Your view is a good one though, it assures me I can rely on you in the future."
