Good evening guys, gals, and non-binary pals! It’s your friendly neighborhood hellhound here with a fun little surprise. I’ve been in need of some help for a while now to ensure that our community can have the most fun-filled time on this site, both in roleplay and out, and it’s time to find myself a ‘deputy’ to do that.
There are a couple reasons why I’m having successor tryouts. While I need help taking care of admin duties, pooling event ideas, and hosting / managing those events, I’m also personally at a point in my life where things are a bit up in the air. For a couple of months now, I’ve been struggling with the realization that my time as a cat roleplayer is slowly coming to a close. While I feel that oncoming close approaching, I also don’t know
when exactly it’ll strike. Holding these tryouts will ensure that I’ll have the help I need, while also having a successor in place should the day come sooner rather than later that I need to step down and move on.
Considering this is a somewhat unique situation, I want to detail not only what the entertainment manager does in general, but also a few of the tasks I’d be asking of you as my successor and a few key pointers to help you make the decision on applying or not!
ENTERTAINMENT ADMIN EXPECTATIONS +- Site wide OTM’s, OTY’s
- Site wide contests, challenges, events, and forum fun activities
- Site wide innovations to the website that supply an imaginative or creative atmosphere for Classic such as map making, additional fun edits to pages, entertainment coding projects such as, but not limited to the candy shop, advent calendar, etc. excluding innovations that land in other clan leaders territories. (Will only innovate by request.)
- Keep forum wrapper up to date
SUCCESSOR EXPECTATIONS +Consider being my successor like being deputy of a clan, in a sense. I don’t have a step down date planned any time soon and you definitely don’t need to worry about being chosen and ditched shortly afterward. I want this to be a working relationship, just like leader and deputy. You’ll be my right wing, helping out and taking over certain events when I’m unable to take care of them myself, just like a deputy would for a leader. Over the next several months
hopefully, I’ll be teaching you the ropes of being an admin, we’ll work together on several projects, and you’ll get to know and understand the flow of being entertainment manager. On top of these things, I want to make it clear that there
will be an activity expectation. As the months go on and we get closer to you taking over
eventually, that activity expectation will increase and I’ll warn you in advance when that will happen, but as of now, the activity expectation will be 10 posts a week sitewide. This can be
anywhere, roleplay boards, discussion forum, plotting board, etc. All you need is to form a steady foundation and these good habits to make your experience as an eventual admin easier and a much more smooth transition.
Here’s a TL;DR if you don’t want to read the giant paragraph above:
- Being my successor today doesn’t mean I’ll be abandoning you tomorrow. Think of it like a leader and deputy in a clan. We’ll be a team, slowly leading up to the day you’ll take over.
- Your tasks will include: coming up with ideas for future events, helping to monitor and manage events (answering questions, updating leaderboards, coloring in line-art, assigning awards, etc.), and many others!
- There will be an activity expectation to prepare you for the vigilance of being an admin. This activity expectation milestone will increase as time goes on and I get closer to my resignation, but starting out, 10 sitewide posts will be expected.
WHO CAN APPLY +Current staff (moderators and leaders) and members can apply! The only requirement I ask is that you be a member of the site for
at least 3-6 months. Those 3-6 months are often enough time to get an understanding of our site and it’s culture and get an idea of where you personally would like to see our site grow. If you fit that criteria and you’re looking at this post wondering if you should apply, please do! You’ll never know what greatness you’re capable of if you don’t try. c:
BUT I DON’T HAVE EXPERIENCE AS STAFF +That’s okay! As I said before, you won’t be abandoned to your own devices once you’re selected. We’ll have plenty of time to go over
everything and you’re always welcome to ask whatever questions you have and I’ll be happy to answer! I want you to know and feel like this site and being at my side will be a safe space where you’re comfortable to talk to me and learn without fear or anxiety. It’s alright to be nervous when you’re doing something for the first time, but every time you try, you learn something new!
WHAT IF I’M IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS / CHOSEN AND REALIZE I DON’T WANT IT ANYMORE / I CAN’T KEEP UP WITH IT +Honestly, that’s really fair and I’ve been there before. If you realize you don’t want to go through with things anymore or you
can’t go through with things anymore because of other Classic responsibilities, real life responsibilities, or you’re just not enjoying it, you’re 100% allowed to bow out. Being entertainment admin is meant to be a
fun experience, with the job being centered around activities and events that help this community
have fun. If you’re feeling obligated to go through with things because you feel locked in or you’re trying to convince yourself what you’re feeling will go away with time, please know that it doesn’t have to be that way. I want you to enjoy yourself and look forward to this, not drive yourself into the ground.
You come first, not this position.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS +It’s pretty simple, all things considered.
STEP I: Fill out the form below and post your application.
STEP 2: Prepare for me to approach you and have a one on one conversation. Consider this like the interview process of sorts, but it’s
way more chill and I’ll be spamming GIFs. c;
Don’t be nervous, I promise I don’t bite.STEP 3: Keep your activity in mind. I won’t lie, the more consistent your activity, the higher your chances. Don’t take this as a suggestion to burn yourself out, though. Keep it steady, keep it fun, that’s why we’re here.
STEP 4: The selection. There won’t be a deadline for these tryouts as I want to take time for everyone to get settled in, find a rhythm, and start grooving with it. Once the selection process starts, an announcement of the selection having begun will be posted to this thread, this thread will be locked, and selection will be underway. I swear it isn’t as intimidating as I’m making it sound, I just… don’t know any other way to put it LOL.
STEP 5: The selection process will end and my new successor/deputy will be announced!
THE APPLICATION +What would you like me to call you?:
What pronouns do you prefer?:
Do you have a Discord?: (This is my main form of communication and is easiest for me to use, but if you don’t have one, you don’t have to, we can use the forum just fine)
How often do you come online on Classic?: (You can give a rough estimate or, if you’re more organized than I am, a schedule of the hours you set aside for Classic)
When are you most often available to chat?: (This is to help me gauge working hours where I can train you and you can help me with things, as well as a rough estimate of when we can set aside time to have the ‘interview process’)
Do you have any experience with being an admin of a site?: (You don’t have to have any experience to be considered for my successor, but if you do, could you please tell me what experience you have and the responsibilities you undertook? That way I can get an idea of where your comforts are and where we can maybe focus our training)
What is it about Classic that you love?:
Are there things about Classic you’d personally like to see change?:
How have you felt about our former events on the site?:
What are your strengths?: (This can be emotional, mental, or literally pertaining to this position: making art, coming up with creative ideas, etc. This helps me gauge what may come naturally to you in regards to this position)
What are your weaknesses?: (Same as the question above, this helps me gauge what may be more of a struggle and something to focus on in our training to ensure you have the smoothest transition possible when the time comes for you to ascend)
Have you ever considered adminship before this moment?:
What is one idea for an event or activity you have that you could start, manage and maintain, and close on your own?: (More than likely, this idea is something you will be asked to perform once you’re chosen so you get the feeling for doing this on your own when I resign. Think of something as unique as you can, but something you’d personally enjoy and that you think our community would enjoy. Keeping them on their toes is the name of the game c;)
Finally, how are you doing today? Have you done anything fun recently? Do you have a story to share with me or a funny joke? What’s your favorite animal? I can’t wait to start this journey with you! ♥ :

Thank you for taking the time to read all of that, I know it was a lot ^0^" And thank you for applying, if you choose to! I hope to make this process as fun and friendly as possible, so no worries, okay? You’ll do great!
That’s all for today, legends, peace out!
