Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. The spring afternoon was a temperate one, with the barest flower-scented breeze shifting the budding branches. Sunshine blanketed the lands that Eden walked, warming her silky brown fur. She had no real destination in mind, seeking only some form of amusement to fill the day. In the back of her mind, she was vaguely aware that the scents around her had changed, smelling of more cats than the loner territories she'd come from- but she'd never really paid any heed to scent markers before, and she wasn't about to start now.
Pastelchaos was of a similar mind as the other cat, especially now that he had that little badge of honor that gave him safe passage through any territory whenever he pleased. Well, any territory except SwiftClan's. He was probably still banned there even if he was a medicine cat (he refused to think of himself as an apprentice, he was one and a half times Rosy's age). And even if he did see value in borders - he never would - DayClan was undoubtably... lax about this kind of thing. Any cat seeking asylum was granted residence - he knew that first hand. So it was no surprise when the tiny tom padded right up to her, an easy smile on his face. "My eyes must deceive me. The gods couldn't have created a beauty as divine as yours," he swooned. It seemed that he was in a dramatic mood today. It had been a bit too long since the tom had gotten himself in trouble, and he was quite bored.
"You flatter me," Eden demurred, her wide green eyes sweeping over this tom. He was one of those wild cats, it seemed, and from the scents on his pelt it seemed that he lived in a larger group. Not that the young former kittypet knew much at all about wild cats, but they seemed so infinitely fascinating. "It's the breeding, and no natural gift of my own. Both of my parents were purebred Havana Browns," the silky she-cat trilled. "But you're quite nice-looking yourself, and you don't appear to be any particular breed at all. That's certainly a higher achievement, is it not? Say, where are we, anyway?" Her affected accent dropped slightly, curiosity flaring in her gaze.
"I can't help myself," the little twink dude continued with a wink. "Havana browns? I once knew a Havana brown, she was a little bit... coquettish for my tastes, but I'm sure your parents were lovely people, doll," he continued with a good natured smile. When she complimented him, heat rose through his fur, and the swooning smile became a bashful grin. "Why, little old me? I'm no Havana cat myself, hell, I can't even remember my parents. My fur?" He was quite proud of it, especially being how rare it was to see a tom with such a luscious calico coat. "It is one hundred percent mutt - breedin's a lot less... selective out in the woods," he finished with a chirping laugh. Pastelchaos then blinked again. "Well, currently we're about two clicks from the weird cult abandoned house, but that's probably not real helpful to ya, is it? This is DayClan territory. Go that way and its the city, where I imagine you wandered in from. The other directions are other clans, but they aren't as cool as we are, so if you're vibe is waltz in and ask questions later, I'd probably be pretty careful where I trot if I were you. Of course we don't care that you're here, but others are a little less hippy kumbaya as we are."
Eden listened to the tom talk, digesting the information. The city didn't interest her, as she'd come from its outskirts and met too many city cats for her liking. Dayclan, then, that's where she was. It was a nice tidbit of info, and she tucked it into her mind, but despite the beauty of the territory she wasn't exactly keen to stay for longer than this conversation. It was too easy, really, and her life had already been easy. A large part of her was curious to find out what the most exclusive group was, to see if she could worm her way in there.
Still, this tom was fun to tease, and he certainly had more information he could give her. "Dayclan, huh? Are all the toms here as handsome as you?" Eden gave him a once-over and a lazy smile, despite the fact that he was undoubtedly too old for her. Not that she really cared; anything that was fun was fair game in her eyes, societal expectations and moral codes be damned. "What's your name? Mine's Eden."
