In this thread, the remaining Sunclan cats are seeking refuge in the regime. All Sunclan cats are welcome to respond.
The air was chillingly quiet as the band of cats moved together. There were so few of them left after all the disasters, one after another after another. Occasionally the silence was broken when somebody fell and struggled to keep up, or one of the few remaining kits wailed out of fear or hunger. First they had lost their traditions, their freedom, their leadership. It seemed hopeless after they realized how much they had lost. When they were down and struggling, Crimsonstar had risen to the task. She organized them, brought up their morale, and helped keep them together. But not even Crimsonstar could protect them against the anger of the gods. When Lacelily and Nightfury's ritual had failed them they were forced to flee their home or be swallowed up by lava and ash.
Finally, they stood on the edge of the Regime's territory. Sunclan had many dealings with Shule and ties to the group so surely they would take them in, at least temporarily. The sunburned silver tabby attempted to shake a little ash out of her fur before turning to address the rag tag group behind her. "Stay here, I will go and talk with Commander Shule about providing us temporary assistance until we can find a new home." Sunclan would not die today. So long as there was a single ember burning, ready to flare up again, they would not die. They had always been a resilient group of cats and she would not fail them a third time.
She took in a deep breath before moving forward, scenting for any patrols or cats who could take her to Commander Shule.
Just as the patrol had arrived at the boarder, Jagger had decided to leave it. Well, more like he'd been forced to. Now days the only prey the commander could find was what lingered in the old survival clan territories. He never knew these clans personally but had heard stories of them, and the great flood that had taken them out. Even now most of the territories were waterlogged and uninhabitable. He hated that The Regime had grown so desperate since the earthquake that had killed Shule and most of the Regime.
Before Jagger had even left the territory however, he'd spotted someone headed his way. Tilting his head, curious the ginger tom decided to meet the cat head on, not recognizing the silver tabby. As he grew closer though he stopped, his nosing wrinkling in disgust, caught off guard by the strong burnt smell coming off this cat.
"Are... Are you alright?" he asked the stranger. Normally he'd be more concerned about interlopers on his territory, but it wasn't every day a burnt looking cat wandered into the regime's lands.

"Is someone roasting a squirrel over here?" Nott called from behind Jagger then halted in her tracks as the form of a toasty-looking group of cats approached. She tilted her head in curiosity and very mild, I mean hardly there at all, concern. "They look a little burnt to me." She meowed dryly to the Commander.

Large blue eyes looked around the group of cats. The group, though small, huddled together. Her nose had ash smeared along it, and as did the whites of her furs. A small sigh slipped from her lips as she felt her aching paws throbbing. Finally, she sat down, lifting her front paws up one after another, before putting the other down. As if trying to let them rest, somehow. Her eyes were dull, but watching everything. She was quiet, the warrior seemed as pitiful as the others, simply hoping for help.

She halted in her steps and regarded the other cats carefully. The scents coming off of them told her that they were Regime cats, likely a patrol which was perfect. She dipped her head respectfully as hope bubbled up in her at their lack of hostility. Maybe they would get lucky after all. "My name is Lacelily and I am the Soothsayer Promised of Sunclan. I..." she paused as she considered her options. She could play off like they were strong and healthy or she could tell the truth. They were weak and desperate at the moment. Which came first: pride or survival?
"We need your help, please. Sunclan's home is... it's gone." Her voice grew faint and grief threatened to overwhelm her but Lacelily held it back and did not look away from them. "I would like to speak to Commander Shule."
Lunarpaw was weaving through her clanmates, taking in their conditions. Almost everyone sat in small groups or pairs and was comforting each other, although mostly silently. They were on the edge of enemy territory hoping for some kind of rescue or help. The apprentice was feeling pretty weary and her stomach growled loudly in protest. "Are you paws okay?" She asked. @ash

The scene was a lot to take in. Jagger's eyes has narrowed curiously at Lacelily's pelt noticing the she-cat looked a little red under her fur from what little he could tell. He briefly wondered if the ash in her fur was related when Nottingham piped up next to him. It was all the commander could do not to audibly choke on his own surprise. You'd think that by now he would be used to the she-cat's quips, well he wasn't Doing his best to hide his astonishment he slid his amber gaze to Nottingham. His eyes widened slightly as he shot her a look as if to say really?
"I can see that." he commented turning his attention back to Lacelily, "I'm sorry to hear that." he spoke sincerely, though he couldn't help himself when it came to her request. "So would I for that matter but you won't find Shule here."
Her eyes shifted, then landed on the apprentice who had approached her. She gave a half smile,"Don't worry about my paws. I will be alright." Though if she were being honest, they hurt. She could feel them beginning to crack slightly, and was surprised they were not yet bleeding. Oceaneyes waved her tail behind her, as she glanced towards Lacelily and the cat she was speaking to. However, she made no move to join the soothsayer, instead, stayed right where she was with Lunarpaw. "Are you alright?" It was truly a loaded question, and one that none of them could answer truthfully. None of them were alright, they were all in some type of pain or hungry from the journey.

Nottingham gave a shrug and little half smile in response to Jagger's astonishment. In her eyes, at least these cats weren't dead. From what it looked like, they went through something that could have had that effect. Her eyes narrowed on the blue-eyed cat and she turned around to see if there were any guiders mulling about while also keeping one ear angled to Lacelily.
