Question! Does it have to be a cat that is already in the clan? Asking for future situations… I’m still getting my rp sea legs back…

Have you been a leader before? Are you familiar with the tasks that a leader performs?:
I’ve been a leader a total of four times on Classic. I’ve led Brookclan, Earthclan, Fallclan and Summerclan. I am familiar with the tasks of a leader. My own beliefs as a leader is being a there for the whole team. I value the opinions of my fellow clan staff members, because in the end we all want the clan to succeed. I don’t want to be a leader that rules with an iron fist but more building the clan up as a team. Also I value the input of the members involved in the clan as well. My personal dedications of what I would do for Sunclan as their leader is to help foster Sunclan members creativity and world building. As a leader I would love to send out weekly or biweekly newsletter if that interests the members of Sunclan and overall the members of Classic. The newsletters would cover things like adoptables, current Sunclan Events, if Sunclan was having an AC. If Sunclan has a plot it would bring members up to speed on what is currently happening in the plot. I would also add fun little adds ons like the weather for each day of the week. What prey is in season. If there have been Twolegs, Rogues or other enemies spotted on Sunclan’s land. I would also love to incorporate Sunclan’s CPCC’s numbers into the overall health of the clan. 

Are you familiar with Sunclan’s current and previous lore?:
While I was never really active and involved in Sunclan when it was led by Honey, Racer, and briefly by Jadie for the Bloodystar’s reign plot. I occasionally had a few cats but failed to be active with them because I was stretched too thin. I also felt I didn’t have the time to dedicate to Sunclan during that time. Due to their plots being fast pace and large extensive lore. I will admit I got pretty lost at times. I am aware of the previous lore of the clan when the Clan followed Starclan. I am also aware of what Sunclan’s most recent lore has been under the guidance of the Sun God. I have spent an extensive amount of time reading further into this to better under the lore. I do find Sunclan’s lore to be very fascinating. It’s rich, it has a lot of history and it appears to build off of each other. Each part is a piece of the puzzle that makes Sunclan unique. Which I believe adds to a lot of world building opportunities for people’s characters’ and for clan plots. I also can see why Sunclan is a popular clan amongst many members. As for Sunclan’s current lore I’m not really sure what it is at the moment? I’ve been looking into threads to better understand their most recent plot where they are living with Renegade Regime. It looks like they may of had a massive change in lore. I do know they lost the Sun God and looks like they have completely lost their customs. Along with there being very little lore on the page at the moment. I would be interested to hear what the current lore is or if Sunclan is currently at a Crossroad in life where it can change.

Are you interested in keeping the current lore or are you wanting to take Sunclan in a new direction?:
I believe Sunclan is at a place where the clan could rebirth into something new. I have no intentions of completely revamping the clan from the ground up. I believe there are many things members love about the Lore of Sunclan and I wouldn’t want to take that away from the members of Classic. I would love to hear feedback from members as a whole in probably the form of a Google survey where things can be anonymous. I would love to hear what things members loved about the former lore. Things they didn’t like about the former lore. What they would like to see in the clan that is different. I would value these opinions before making any major changes to the clan. I do know things like that can take time. I also don’t want Sunclan to be stuck completely in limbo 

Cat Name: Leland Starkfield (He would probably take up a warrior name)
Cat Biography: Short smoky fur covered in bold tabby markings. Mix match colored eyes of deep amber and the frosty blue that is connected him to the Starkfield line. Overall he is thin in appearance and lacks the muscle power of most Mercenaries. But what he lacks in brawn he makes up for in brains. Not afraid to meet any challenger that questions his place as Mercenary Superior. Once an anxiety ridden kit who was afraid to leave the comfort of the tunnels. He has grown in his time away from The Regime. Become more confident and more vocal instead of lurking in the shadows of his siblings. He is a historian who thrives on knowledge. Whether that is learning everything he can about the enemy or the problem at hand. He will mull over the problem until he finds a solution that satisfies him. While as a kit he looked up to his Uncle Axiom. As he got older his drive in life is to prove his family wrong. That he wasn’t just a waste of space. That he is worthy of carrying the Starkfield name through his grandmother Ananassa Starkfield, who is related to the founders of Avalon Everlasting (Abana and Tarak) through Ctyo Starkfield.

A plot to help introduce your cat and ease the transition:
(I rewrote my plot idea because the more I looked at it the more I went oof it looked like a hot mess)

With the recent disasters and the Sun God missing. Tensions are running high amongst the Sunclan warriors. Some are comfort staying with the Regime and others a disgusted they had to turn to another group for help since Sunclan is known for being a prideful clan. Lacelily is at her wits end unsure with what to do because she hasn’t seen any signs from the Sun God or Sunclan’s ancestors in Starclan. An sign finally comes from an unlikely source. Lacelily is visited in a dream by the Blind Protector which is The Regime’s God. Stating that Leland who is the current Mercenary Superior of Renegade Regime is the next Leader of Sunclan and also gives her a prophecy/omen/instructions on how to find the Sun God or what remains of the Sun God. Lacelily is left with the difficult decision to tell her Clan about the dream and prophecy. Sunclan is outraged that a cat that doesn't even have one drop of Sunclan blood is chosen as their leader. The Regime and Leland are made aware of this. Leland Starkfield takes up the Torch as Sunclan’s High Priest and is dedicated to help the Clan find their lost god and establish a new territory with the promise he would step down when both missions were complete. The mission for the lost god takes Sunclan on a long journey to a new territory. They follow the instructions laid down for them by the Blind Protector and there could even be some assistance from the Moon Goddess healing the relationship between Moonclan and Sunclan. When Sunclan discovers a new home in a run down temple and a place where they could worship the Sun God. It is then during a dream that Leland, Lacelily and Nightfury are visited by a young strange she-cat with golden fur that has an appearance similar to flames. This cat introduces themselves as the Sun Goddess. She had been living in Starclan, reborn, healing and regaining her strength. She is gentle and opposite from her predecessors. She is a loving Goddess who wishes to protect her clan. She names Leland as the rightful leader of Sunclan despite his protests and renamed him Phoenixstar. Telling him to heal the relationship with the Moon and that he too like her will go through a rebirthal process while leading Sunclan and to protect them the way he would protect the Regime.

Have you been a leader before? Are you familiar with the tasks that a leader performs?: yes. i've led Primal Instinct fairly recently and led Winterclan a long time ago. I was also a Sunclan Janus for a short time.
Are you familiar with Sunclan’s current and previous lore?: mostly. i have a decent understanding of it from when Racer and Jadie were leading the clan, but admittedly fell off of it after leaving in June 2021 for a time. I'm familiar though with some of the happenings like the Sun God being gone.
Are you interested in keeping the current lore or are you wanting to take Sunclan in a new direction?: a bit of both. i don't wanna scrub away everything that made Sunclan "Sunclan" but I also can't see this character working without making any changes. so there'll definitely be some. i'd like to step away from some of the more cult-ish traditions and make it more traditional leaning with some not as traditional aspects. of course, those're just my ideas and i want to hear the staff's and community's preferences before setting anything in stone.

Cat Name: Moonlitstar (nova)
Cat Biography: He never wanted to come back here, never expected to. When the slimy and bitter poison slid down his throat, he figured it was the end. It was an ironic death, he wished to just be slain in battle, not lie in the grass as convulsions wracked his body. He couldn't have known it was an identical death to his father's, Funk E'tan's, oddly fitting. But unlike his dad, he was not ready to leave yet. Everything was finally going his way. He had a loving family in Swiftclan, he couldn't leave them. His kits, his friends, Satinlights... But there's only so much willpower can do to stop death. So it must have been life herself that brought him back from the brink. It was, in no uncertain terms, a miracle he even opened his eyes again. He can't answer any questions, he's given up on wondering them. The next thing he knew was a violent shaking, a tremor that felt like the world itself would split in two beneath him. The quake originated in Sunclan, not that he knew when he woke and struggled his way out of several feet of snow to make it to the surface. The jostlings of a god were rough indeed. Cause the ground did not break. It may as well have. With how much time had passed, he couldn't bare to show his face in Swiftclan again. It wasn't just that though. Life again comes with a price. Everything does, he was all too familiar with how fate was. His form was preserved too well in the ne'er melting snow, freezing everything in place yet he still changed. What was once a full and lush coat of white fur with orange highlights now hangs limply over his slight frame. Where there used to be smooth muscle was now tendons and bones barely holding together. It could come back, that's what he wanted to tell himself. But then he found his paws shake when he walked. His whole body did, unable to control these tremors. It was as if the earthquake had ingrained itself directly into his bones. And, in hindsight, he should have went back. He would of been happier. But Moonlitnova is a cat of great pride and great shame. He used to run like the wind for hours, fight like a bat out of hell. His skills were the only thing nourished, the only reliable source of pride he had. And now they were gone. Moonlitnova's always been a pawn in everyone's games, even his own. So he must have been cast in another to run into Sunclan again. Where at one point, he was boastful and aggressive, he's now more mellow and tired. Though his tongue is still as sharp as ever, there's no real bite behind it anymore. There's still remnants of the old Moonlit of him, of stumbling over his words, of his emotions being as clear on his face as a new window, of dark humor that's only ever entertaining to him. The fates that Moonlitnova used to hate are dead, but one still must enjoy toying with him.

A plot to help introduce your cat and ease the transition: Tensions and uncertainty run deep in the remains of Sunclan. Everything they've known has been stripped away in just a few moons time. Once unspoken issues begin to rise to the surface and now they want everyone else to think they were right all along. Spats and feuds break out, but none could be compared to when Moonlit walked into their doors again. There were few that recognized him, but his old exploits were notable and well known. A runaway and a Sun God denier, it did not help he is the brother of Bloodyrondo. As if the outrage could not get any worse, a rumor begins to circulate that Moonlitnova is actually here to start a coup and take Sunclan down for the final time, permanently. A traitor is never to be trusted, and perhaps they just wanted some sense of familiarity, even if it would end in the bloody demise of Moonlitnova.
I'll try and make this sound more flowery but like. they probably are just about to kill Moonlit when something suddenly shines brightly. and some foreign god, i was thinking like a Nova God, tells them to knock it off and that they've chosen Moonlit to lead them. everyone's like the hell? but i mean, who are they to ignore the voice of a disembodied god of light?
