There still was a lingering dread that haunted the tom since Sunclan's attack. It wasn't something that he would vocally express - after all, such an obvious display of unease over the recent battle would be humiliating, and in some small part seemed like it would give more satisfaction to their attackers. But Windsweptashes, in spite of what his physical size and more athletic build would have suggested, was not a cat that did well in the midst of combat and bloodshed. 

It was mainly for that reason there was hesitance to the tom's steps as he took his hunting closer to the border. Even during the best of times, Windsweptashes was always anxious about the possibility of stumbling upon an intruder alone, but the chance of being greeted instead by an entire patrol of Sunclan cats only heightened his usual fears.
