Crimsonstar paused as she looked down in the puddle as she walked towards where she'd asked the Soothsayers and the former Janus to gather.
She'd received her nine lives the night prior, the victory SunClan gained over MoonClan solidifying her position and prompting her to be named the leader.
Her heart ached anew for those lost she'd met in the ceremony. It had been... bittersweet to be so briefly reunited.
And some of them had been faded, almost echoes rather than the solid SunClan ancestors whom stepped forward to give her lives. All of them praying she'd bring a new age to SunClan, their hopes resting on her with the loss of Skipstar and most of SunClan.
The rumblings of the earth told a different story than the disconnect optimism of the ancients.
Crimsonstar had heard the murmurings from the remnants of SunClan, that it was the Sun God who'd commanded the flaming mountain that loomed over their lands. A creation of his afterbirth as a god.
It was troubling that there'd been no sight of him. True, his presence could've prevented Crimsonstar's rise to power. But even the anger she'd gripped in her heart was fading in face of the growing bond she felt for these cats.
Strongbelief who had faithfully followed her to MoonClan and been a staunch supporter of her right from the start.
Nightfury who had kept her on her toes and despite her earning the favor of the Clan still remained firm.
The young apprentices that showed such promise still despite the massive losses they'd suffered.
Crimsonstar wanted no harm to befall them, and she feared in the greater game of gods harm was imminent.
So her first order of business was to try and call the Sun God back to SunClan, to quell the ire of the land, or at least ensure that the fiery beast of the Volcano would remain contained. For an eruption could spell the end for them.
The best ones to do so would be for her to call on the remaining Janus and her two soothsayers.
The four of them assembling near the holy lands, lands that were becoming more and more battered with the devastation of the shaking earth. Crimsonstar stepped over the fallen Sunflowers, noting the others look far more wilted than she'd ever seen them before.
Not a promising sign.
"I imagine you're wondering why I've called you all here." She said when she reached the circle of cats, Lacelily, Midnightcurrent, and of course Nightfury. "Though we have shored up our stocks thanks to our attack on MoonClan, the unrest of the land is becoming something we cannot ignore."
She sat down closing out the circle, her gaze wandering to the volcano in the distance before focusing back on those she'd gathered to council with. "What I am most afeared of is that mountain of ours deciding to let loose the fiery beast that was unleashed in your Sun God's after birth."
She gestured vaguely to the remnants of the holy lands. "Thus it is my hope that with all of us together, and in this holy site, we can call back the Sun God to these lands. At the very least to tether that beast. The earth is a threat enough, but if that beast is unleashed to ravage the lands it will spell disaster." Crimsonstar said.
