Leland you as grateful to be out of the disgusting filthy tunnels that The Regime had once called home. Now living above ground the Mercenary Superior was getting a full taste of what it was like to live out in the elements. One day it would be freezing with an icy wind, the next day it would be warm and he could swear the birds were louder that usual. If that is one thing he decided he hated about Spring other than the constantly changing weather. Was the obnoxiously loud birds that begun screaming at Dawn.

"I don't know how you do it." Jagger commented, walking up beside his Mercenary Superior. "Sleep in the snow" he clarified after a brief pause, taking this moment to stretch out his limbs. While Leland may have hated the loudly yapping birds every morning, Jagger saw them as breakfast. Sure they were extremely annoying but that only catching them that much more satisfyingly. Even now his amber gaze was fixed on the few bird that chittered overhead, daring one of them to land near by.

"Personally, I'm not a big fan of living in tunnels, but I guess that's what I get for being away from the Regime for so long. The idea of a roof of a tunnel collapsing above my head swallowing me up into the earth. Just does not sound appealing to me. I will take my chances with the snow." Leland grumbled looking at the birds above their heads. He found their existences annoying, and he wanted to slaughter them all if they would allow him.

"I don't like them either." It wasn't a confession, it's not like the commander had ever tried to hide his disdain for the tunnels, or the snow for that matter. In fact he had being obnoxiously annoying about it ever since he had come back to The Regime's home. It was reassuring in a way he wasn't the only one who felt that way. In fact he had seen more cats above ground lately than he ever had growing up in the group. Then again there were far fewer cats around these days.
"If they try to come down here, we might actually get a decent meal today." The orange tabby was still staring at the birds, his tail flicking impatiently, of course there was no way they were going to land near him. Not with his neon fur contrasting against the stark snow like a beacon, alerting them to the danger.

"I doubt they will come down easily. Either we will have to go up there and get them ourselves, or we could always coax them down from their perch. Maybe set up a clever little trap for them? I personally like that idea better. I would prefer to not fall out of an icy tree just for some scrawny bird. No matter how hungry or how annoying they may be." He commented as he looked at their surroundings. Trying to find something the birds might find tasty to eat. Or something they could use as a trap for them.

"What kind of trap?" Still the tom didn't take his eyes off the birds as he spoke. Maybe he could move around to the other side of their perch to distract them while the Superior set up whatever trap he was contemplating? At the very least it would provide an opportunity for a stealth attack. Going up the tree was out of the question, not only would it be slippery and down right unpleasant, it was too obvious. If either cat where to act so boldly the birds would fly away and scatter before they even reached the tree.

"Well, I would be they are as hungry as we are. There has to be some dried berries or seeds. Something that they would find tasty." The Mercenary Superior suggesting looking around at the surroundings seeing if there was something the pair could use to entice the birds down from their perch.

"If they're as hungry as we are there's a reason for it." Jagger finally looked away from the birds, slowly scanning the area. There was too much snow on the ground to find anything that birds would want to eat but... maybe... The commander stood up slowly, his claws scraping at the snow on the ground, gently at first but when it became apparent the birds weren't interested in him, he began to dig until his claws hit the frozen ground. Still he did not stop, doing his best to dig up the hard earth, looking for the softer soil underneath. Looking for worms.
