Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She watched. It was her duty to watch and get to know her clanmates. Cometfrost had a lot to do for her clan. It was her duty to arrange the marriages, to find the cats who were suited perfectly for one another. It was quite a job, and it truly determined the future of her clan. Despite being a watcher, she was rather quiet. Sometimes she would find herself going to have personal conversations with cats, not for her own benefit. Rather, for those in the clan. She had to match them. It was a huge weight to carry.
She was also expected to eventually find a mate and give kits to the clan, however, she found that almost unlikely. Cometfrost was simply too busy. She wondered how those before her could manage this. This big responsibility along with making a family of her own.
Her fluffy tail curled around her paws as she sat in camp, her eyes flitting back and fourth. At least, she didn't look odd. Cats expected this out of the knight.
"Be sure to shift your paws at-least, otherwise they're going to think you've frozen to the ground." A teasing voice spoke as Fairytalesorrow slipped up beside his fellow guard. He could admire her dedication while acknowledging her had none of his own. He might also argue though that her position had lower stakes than his own; not that it mattered when in the end he was poor at his position regardless.
"So whose next on your chopping block?" He questioned with a boyish grin, keeping his thoughts towards the arranged marriages hidden. The slim tom couldn't say her prescribed the the idea of them, though he thought that might because he disliked the idea of having kits of his own or a relationship with a she-cat of any sort.
Her ears had flicked as the tom had made his way towards her. Cometfrost tilted her head to the side slightly, her silvery furs rippling as she shifted her position. "If you are not careful, I will find you a cat to be paired with." It was a joke really, a tease. However, her voice was so serious that one who did not know her would think she was being serious.
"Please don't." He responded flicking his tail and his ears. "The both of us would truly become distraught having to suffer one another." He added teasingly, smiling playfully towards her; playing his statement up as a joke but in truth he really meant it. Sure he would hide it and be the dotting mate he was expected to be but would hate every moment of it. "Besides, I'm sure you don't need me to pad your numbers, you seem to be doing a fine job."
Cometfrost snorted at the last comment. "Yeah." She muttered shaking her head. "I have yet to find a suitable match for any. There's always... issues, flaws. Ones that the potential mate wouldn't be able to look past. The goal is to find marriages that would not end in divorce." She stated, matter of factly.
"Surely not every cat can have a problem that would ruin a marriage," he replied with a bit of a laugh. It seemed an outlandish thing to contemplate. "We're doomed if none of us are marriage worth; now new kits seems like a rather steep issue."
She shook her head. "I am not saying that none are compatible. I simply... have yet to find the right matches." She sighed, shaking her head. "That is why I watch. I am analyzing every cat, trying to put together certain compliments of personality and strengths."
